April 5, 200818 yr No, thats your opinion. What has Homer done against major league hitters, that makes him ready? Until he realizes he has to pitch in the majors, and not try and blow everyone away with his straight fastball, he's not going to be ready.

I think it stems from the fact that when he gets in trouble he tries to throw a strait fastball past people but it doesn't have movement and he doesn't always locate it very well...

Yes, location within the strike zone was definitely a problem last year. I think it stemmed over to spring training this year too. He's got the goods, but I think he's just struggling with he location around the plate with his fastball as you have said. Simply put, he's not ready yet.

He would be up in the count 0-2 or 1-2 and throw one right down the middle....and then see ya. Burton really impressed me. He had a nice off spead pitch with his fastball at about 94. Same 'ol Coffey. :irked: DUnner needs to get it going.

Seemed like he started 3-0 on everyone. :lol: At first...yes he was.....but when Utley (sp?) hi his second, and toward the end of his "stay" he would get ahead, and then throw a smokin' 81 mph fastball right in the wheel-house. MAN that drove me nuts. :fire:

MAN that drove me nuts. :fire: I know the Reds pretty much expected a 10-10 type season from Fogg, but the Reds can't afford him not going at least 5 strong innings each outing. The bullpen saved the team and kept them in the game, but you can't put your club behind the 8 ball the way he did tonight. I'm actually now looking forward to Fogg's second outing more than I am Cueto's.

I thought I would see Afeldt more than 1 inning, but I am glad Burton came in. He look very good out there.
