Excellent choice ... she was very impressive at the Sweet 16.

She was the best player the entire season, including leading her team to the State Championship. Classy girl. I wish her all the best. Great choice!! Congrats!!!

Votes were not due until after the state tournament so I do think that her performance in the sweet 16 did help her. A great example of that was Jody Demling with the Courier Journal. He had picked Monique Reed in one of his blogs and in that he had rated Tia # 3 behind Reed and Novosel. After state, he changed his mind and said that Tia hands down was the best.

 

She is very deserving and has played well all year but I think that everyone was talking about Reed and Novosel from the get go and she was overlooked most of the year.

I agree that state had something to do with it, even if every one says that it doesn't. No one really mentioned her, people said it was a two-horse race between Reid and Novosel, and then Gibbs wins it. Just shows you no matter what they say, state does affect voting.
