What was once a dream is becoming reality for the Knox Central athletic department. Initial construction of the school's athletic field house is nearly complete.

 

The main feature is a 35-yard long, 32-yard wide Astroturf surface, marked as a mini-football field with a big "KC" in the middle.

 

The building also includes a large section that is planned as a weightlifting area and already has men's and wome's restrooms.

 

The field house is fully lighted and has a modern heating and air conditioning system. It will be used by students for both extracurricular and physical education programs.

Knox Central will most likely start the season 0-3 with Clay, Corbin, and Bell to start the season.

I would like to see them in their preseason scrimmage against the Harlan County Bears before I make any serious predictions, but I can see the Panthers having a good shot at winning the two of them and an outside shot at three.

 

I would rather have a couple of games experience before hitting that murderer's row of a schedule but it is what it is and it doesn't appear that Coach Mills ducks anyone. Even a loss will pay dividends later on.

Clay, new coach or not, will be a hard game for the Panthers. Corbin at Corbin will not be easy. Bell is back to being almost unstoppable. Hard to see the Panthers going 3-0 to start.

 

Pepper II is right. Coach Mills, like Coach Mitchell here at Lynn Camp, won't dodge anyone. Sometimes that makes for a rough time early. Rather see a tough schedule than a group of cupcakes, though. If you stay healthy, you are ready for post season that way.

Can't belive I am saying this but Corbin maybe the best chance for a W early. I don't think the pups will that strong this year, but any time you play at Corbin it is not EASY.

Very easily could, depends on how quickly the Tigers of Clay adapt to a new defensive style of Football.

I think they will start 1-2 with a win vs Clay.

Rule 13

I saw an article in the local paper today that stated KC has a 59 man squad with 14 seniors. Those are very good numbers and a lot of experience.

 

Another picture showed the coaching staff holding a Saturday morning mini camp for the young kids at the new fieldhouse. Knox Central football has come a million miles in the past five years.
