Newport's field is in no peril at all from river flooding. Not even close.

If the crest is 52', I think the field will be fine. Fifty-two feet is what it takes to just get over the bank at our river place. The times this has happened I don't believe Newport field was in trouble at that stage. In the '97 flood, the crest was much higher maybe 56' or more and at that time I believe Newport may have had some flooding.

I used to think that the River Level at Cicinnati was a accurate measurement to use for our Rivercamp. But with lets say the level at Cincinnat is 52 and the level at Meldahl Dam is 49.6, something just doesn't seem right. So we split the difference for our measurement. 50.8 feet:thumb:

Glad for Newport and their field, but it would nonetheless be interesting to know what the manufacturer would say if their turf field was put completely under water.

1997 was the 9th highest crest in history. And it was a huge disaster for Falmouth and people along the Licking.

If my memory serves me, Newport went with 100% rubber because of drainage issues. Or something like that...

Newport will hold practice today so I would say the field is ok.
