Lofton hit a big three to win the ball game with time running out and behind by one point. USC held Lofton in check pretty much the entire game but the senior leader came through for the Vols. I was certainly hoping that the Vols would have continued their SEC tourney losing tradition and been on their way home after their first game. On another note, this was Dave Odom's last game. Coach Odom is a class act and imo will be missed by all of college basketball. Best of luck to him in his retirment. He certainly outcoached Pearl (UT) today imo and his team played hard and came up just a little short.

HOMELESS CAMEL Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 UT showing why they might not last past the first weekend, yet also showing why they could make a deep run. If they hit their outside shots they can beat anyone, course if they struggle, we know what can happen.

The Professor Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 UT is way over-rated... IMO They play too out of control imo. Wild....up and down....first man gets the ball shoots it. Not a whole lot of structure. For a while today I thought I was watching a pickup game on a playground. It's a good thing Pearl has a lot of talent.
pigman Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Pearl is a good recruiter and a good coach. I will not put the word great with his name as far as coaching goes. They play one style and if you can take them out of that they are top 20 at best.
