Transfered from the 16th region....

Featured Replies

I agree 100%. From what it sounds like we are going to have another Oak Hill Academy, but this is a public school. If this happens with an unmentioned team, they should be banned from playing in the state tournament. It is not fair to the kids that have busted their butts in hopes of winning a state championship. We don't need an all star team playing in our state tournament next year.

How can a team be banned from the state tourney if these kids want to transfer. I honestly think as long as the kids at Elliott Co. stay together then the mentioned will be looking from the outside in. Why not go to a school that is well known and a state power year in and year out. Not to mention this particular region most of the time is more competitive than the Sweet 16. Lets see stay where you are and play good at best regional competition, or move to probably the toughest region is the state and play top 10 teams night after night. Sounds to me like it is a no brainer. I come from the 16th region but people need to see the writing on the wall that the 16th will never match up to other regions. If these 2 are truely moving I hope to see them next year.

Those guys will end up at Lex. Cath.

One of the above mentioned "bench daddies" also had his job eliminated when the company he worked for sold out. Giving more reason to move. Does anyone know if Toyota of Georgetown has any openings?

What it really comes down to is this: Some of the area schools love the fact that perhaps this school comes down to earth because of the beatings they've handed out recently. And that's fine. But let me clue you in on one little tidbit. The 16th region is sooooooooooo bad that even with those two gone, that team will still be in the upper half of the region. Write it down. And if they leave, good luck to them both! Enjoyed watching you play!

Only in America, baby!

So I guess we've ruled out Bracken County.

I have to disagree Mr. King with those two gone that team is in the cellar!

More fuel for division split ? Most know it, some want to keep the "dream" alive, and the rest will keep taking the "gimme" wins !!:sssh:

Toyota is not hiring full time and hasnt for many years, in order to get on full time you must first be a temporary for at least two years then Toyota evaluates you to see if they want you. Getting a job at Toyota doesn't just happen by a phone call, and never has.

I don't understand why you would want a split. Ashland is in 5A if not mistaken. That is going to put them playing teams such as Montgomery Co., Clark Co. on a regular basis and guess what they will still take the defeats that they are getting from the 1-4 A schools so it defeats the purpose of the split.

I never said I wanted a split, but some people do. Ashland isn't the only school in the region. I agree with your statement that the 16th will never match up. Maybe once every 20-30 years.

Oh, I doubt that. The 3rd best player in the school didn't even play JV or Varsity last season. And after Fairview and Elliott and East, who is strong next season?

Ashland-No

Russell-No

Boyd-No

Greenup-No/Maybe

Bath-Fair

Raceland-No

Fleming-No

Rowan-No

Menifee-No

Lewis-No

West-No

Morgan-No

I think that there are no superior teams past the 3 mentioned. Of course that's just my opinion. I'm sure that won't be the opinion of many!

Often people will swear up and down that they know something to be true when, in reality, they’re just passing on a rumor they’ve heard from someone else. Sometimes, a period where everyone is happy and getting along just seems kind of…dull. Spreading juicy dish might shake things up a bit and that would make life a little more exciting. :dancingpa

No one can confirm that the students have left school and I can confirm they have not enrolled at expected destination......Mission Rubber Ducky not complete.....

Considering my oldest son shot basketball last night for an hour with one of the said "transferees", I'll go out on a limb and say that they're still in school.
