March 13, 200818 yr Lucifer was the original sinner. The first to do so. He sinned and was not tempted when he himself tempted Adam in the garden. And it is sad to say but the Bible tells us that all that hear about salvation will not accept it. So, Lucifer does win some away from salvation.

In the NT, we learn that Satan did not deceive Adam. Rather Adam chose to side with Eve over God. Adam knowingly made the decision to eat the apple.

March 13, 200818 yr We're tempted to turn off other would-be believers. On the DC talk "Jesus Freak" album (I'm showing my age) there is a little quote by the singer Carman that states: "The greatest single threat to Christianity is Christians, who acknowledge Jesus with their lips but deny him by their lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable." I have a friend who is a staunch atheist (but who is a very moral person) who doesn't buy into the whole God thing b/c of the actions and words of those who say they know God.
March 13, 200818 yr Going back to the question "If you cannot lose your salvation.." I think Satan still likes to keep our walk from being all it could be. If he can keep us from walking close he can destroy our witness and testimony, and keep our family and friends from salvation. I agree with IM4THEHOUNDS.

Thus it will be harder to help save the next guy! :thumb: That was my immediate thought. Satan's goal, I suppose, is to destroy as many lives as possible by keeping them from God. What is the biggest threat to that right now? God, the Holy Spirit, working through Christians to spread the message of salvation and draw people to Him. By bringing them down, it probably makes his job of keeping non-believers from becoming believers a little easier. Just a thought anyway...

March 13, 200818 yr And resisting sin makes us stronger people, it proves our faith in God. I believe Adam partook of the fruit so that he wouldn't be alone. If Eve were cast out of The Garden and Adam stayed, then how would mankind have come along? Sounds like a plan to me. They sinned, so God gave forgiveness to those that repent. Isn't that where we are all at now? Isn't it said that God knows everything from the beginning to the end. So I would venture to say he knew this would happen, so I bet he had a backup plan. (the atonement).
