Let me clarify, I was watching the game from right where it occured, I could see what came out of the mouth. I could be mistaken but it wasnt too hard to see what was said. The whole thing was blown out of proportion by Downing freaking out like he was punched. The tap on the head was not needed but I don't think it was in foul manner IMO

There are obviously emotions that are running extremely high for a game with that much on the line. Those kids and their teammates are the only people that know what happened.

I thought both sides battled on the court, I was really not impressed with the way that pretty much the entire Mason team was taunting the Montgomery Side the entire game. I'm not from Mason or Montgomery but have been around ball and I didn't think that showed much class, when your team hits a shot celebrate with your teamates not by turning to the opposing fan section!

 

So now its fine for Josh Clark to go down the court pounding his chest at everybody but not for Setty to do his right?Hmm not sure on this one.

Well it took near an hour to play the 2nd half so not sure how many more they could have called. It had to be at least 30 in the 2nd half alone. And if you were sitting on the Montgomery side you could see Stull say My Bad as he patted him on the head.

 

Hope this win gets everyone off of Ohearn in town. Best team always wins no matter the site, just look at 38th district with Harrison, 39th district with Bracken, 40th district with Montgomery, and 10th region with Montgomery. Not a single home team won a championship in the 10th region this year. :sssh:

 

 

I guess we were not the only ones that saw the head slap that way. I also meant to say Sunday Final not Saturday. What matters it would have been a weekend game, more people would have been able to attend. Its over it was just an all together different atmosphere, but a great game.:banana:

Not a reasonable comment. Clark always played hard. I thought he had good shot selection early in the game, they just weren't falling. Clark would have benefited by slowing down a little on the chest pounding, but it was never over the top all season.

 

I thought Setty giving the MC student section the chop after he hit a 3 was pretty cool. Why should a "player" have to listen to MC's "player haters" the whole game. I must say that the students were allowed to get pretty aggressive on one of the officials once, he handled like a pro and got the principal involved to calm it down some.

 

Setty hit the 3's and did the chop once toward the crowd...he deserved the right to do it once.

I thought the entire first quarter the shot selection by everyone was pretty good. In second quarter, MC got down and they threw up a couple of bad shots. I know one of our guards tossed a 3 from the corner and it went 4 feet beyond the goal.

 

MC was a little hyped at that point in the game.

No, I wouldn't pound my chest. If I took 10 shots and made more than 60% of them then I might pound my chest. But definitly not 1 for 10.

Yea but Montgomery could have stayed in the Triangle and 2 and Setty and Miller wouldnt have had so many uncontested shots..... Setty probably hit 4 wide open three's when Montgomery went man!

 

So, what if King didn't get two early fouls and made up for those 9 points as he was well below his average for the season. Just a thought. If this was a game of what if's man we would all be all-stars!

Were u down close to hear some of the comments they were making? I would think not because if so u would know why they turned and faced the pep section each time they scored. It shows class to stand there and cheer for your team and not make rude comments towards the opposite team so based on what I know they deserved it. :ylsuper:

Well are you missing a sense? Its called reading lips. Have you ever done that? Guess not

Downing clearly over reacted. Stull wears his emotions on his sleeve and sometimes gets out of hand but it was very obvious the tap was a "my bad" type of thing. Emotions were flying high though, he just let that get to him when it shouldn't have.

 

I also thought that the Mason Co. players were acting classless. Everybody knew they were the better team, they didn't have to flaunt it. Everytime Setty hit a 3, he turned straight toward the Montgomery Co. students and either smiled or once he actually did the Indian chop. This was the first time I had seen Mason be cocky, but boy they were last night.

Why is everyone ignoring the fact that if you haven't seen Mason Co be cocky there had to be motivation. I dont think anyone was sitting down by the cheering section(especially a clark co fan) to hear all the rude comments being made by the students. Montgomery Co Student Section was a bit cocky so again they got what they deserved. Mason has never acted like that in a basketball game so I guess we can all say Montgomery is just as cocky but thats okay since they aren't Mason CO. Nobody has yet to comment on the cocky section of Montgomery
