10th Region POY

Prewitt had a good game today, with a double double I believe. She had something like 14 points and over 10 assists I believe...she had 11 pts and 9 assists at half time. She definitely gets her team involved, and still gets her own. Either/or could win POY easily.

If I know Maggie, I'd say that's it's fine with her for Chambers to be player of the year as long as Maggie is the one who gets to play in the state tournament......... again.

And if you seen my opening statement for what its worth, I know D. Chambers would trade any individual accomplishment for a region title and end her career in the region on a high note. Those two girls, Chambers and Prewitt are outstanding players and it would be hard to choose one or the other for the Player of the Year honors. I was just passing along information and I wish the best of luck to both. Remember the words for what its worth, cause without a championship, nothing else matters.

Chambers should be POY and I'm sure she or any other athlete would give that up to be in the state tournament.

Mason County senior De'Sarae Chambers has been named the 10th Region Player of the Year by the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches. Chambers is averaging 20.6 points and 8.2 rebounds a game this season. She is Mason County's all-time leading scorer. Montgomery County's Janie Robinson is the 10th Region Coach of the Year. The award winners from each region will be recognized at the Houchens Industries/KHSAA Girls' Sweet 16.

Oh, and just in case it really matters, I got that info at http://www.soft96.com in Danny Weddle's sports blog.

It doesn't really matter, nice official release from my release in post #15.

IMO the most Valuable person on the Mason County team is Lacey Cline with out here the offense would not fire on all cylinders, D is a great player but there have been times she was not on the floor due to foul trouble and they really didnt slow down much but you take Cline out and there is a Big difference in how the offense produces. Mason County would not be the same team with out Cline running the show JMO Nothing against D she is a TOP NOTCH athlete and a great person, but alot of credit has to go to Cline, says alot when your Point guard has over 2500 points as well. Best of luck to them in the finals.

D was out yesterday in their game, and the game remained close, and Harrison even had a 6 point lead at once. D took over the last quarter, and Mason outscored Harrison 21-11 in the quarter. D is their most valuable player, but Litzinger and Cline are definitely nice partners for her.

Just wondering who gave her the ball ??????? If i am not mistaken D and Litzenger were out with only Cline and Menke on the floor for offense at one point in the 2nd quarter. What are the player rankings going into tourny play ??? who is the top 5 and in what order?? I have not seen these yet. You are correct they wouldnt be the same without D but you have to give a little credit to Cline she is there quarterback and with ut her i am not sure how well they would do. They really don't have another point guard who could run the show like she does.

I agree 110%.... Cline is the glue that keeps them together. In the games I have seen Mason play this year and in the past, Lacey is on the the floor all game long and does not get much bench time unless she is in foul trouble. There must be a reson for this, If she is not running the offense they would struggle.

For the sake of arguement, why would anyone not pick Maggie Prewitt?

Maggie would get my vote.

More complete player and team is on the verge of 3-peating.

Actually, they won..and it is a 4-peat.

Chambers was the best athlete in the 10th Region. I don't even think it is a close race. There are a lot of good players in the 10th Region and there are only a few great players in the 10th Region. As far as overall abilities, Chambers is the best athlete in the 10th Region. Don't get me wrong, Prewitt is another one of those few great players in the 10th Region. If Chambers wasn't in the 10th Region, then you would have a case for Prewitt. But anybody (well almost anybody) who thinks Prewitt is a better overall athlete that Chambers, is either a relative of hers or has ties with Montgomery Co. And this is coming from an individual who doesn't have ties to either player or school.

And for the record, I think that Montgomery Co could still do damage and be a force to recon with without Prewitt. If you don't beleive that, then just watch at what they do after Prewitt graduates. Mason Co would not do as well without Chambers.

Since Chambers is the best athlete in the 10th she automatically recieves the award?
