March 7, 200818 yr Actually, had it been made public that he punched the head coach in the eye? Most people believed that he swung at Hu, not punched Marvin in the eye. Is the bolded supposed to make it better or right that he was swinging at an assistant coach instead of the head coach.
March 7, 200818 yr Maybe it's just me, but isn't it funny that after we move on to a division rival all of a sudden we are sure of the facts but just never decided to tell until now... So, some role player comes out and takes a shot at the star player in the media and how is that going to be played out. Especially when one player did it and was roasted in the media by the Head Coach who wrongly continued to try and baby his star brat.
March 7, 200818 yr Kimo Von Cheapshotten... Not only a great answer, but the right one in my opinion. Not sure if the Bengals would of went on to win the SB, but would of won that game..JMHO

Not sure if the Bengals would of went on to win the SB, but would of won that game..JMHO Just for the record, wasn't the Bengals winning this game till halftime when Chad the Brat Johnson took a swing at his coach and created a huge 1/2time disruption for his team?
March 7, 200818 yr I am not a Chad supporter by any means; if they could move without him without killing the salary cap, I would be all for it. Be that as it may, I don't believe everything I hear, especially from a self-professed loud mouth like Sean Smith.
March 7, 200818 yr Just for the record, wasn't the Bengals winning this game till halftime when Chad the Brat Johnson took a swing at his coach andcreated a huge 1/2time disruption for his team? I think the shock of finding out that their star QB Carson Palmer is definitely done for the game, maybe even next year with a torn ACL, was more of a distraction than that. Even though Chad doing that, definitely wouldn't help matters.

Most of the fault lies with Marvin IMO, for allowing it to happen and not doing anything about it then.
March 7, 200818 yr If they was going to move him, than after that would have been the time. Most of the fault lies with Marvin IMO, for allowing it to happen and not doing anything about it then. How do you know he did nothing about it(assuming it happened)? Most discipline is handled behind closed doors.
March 7, 200818 yr How do you know he did nothing about it(assuming it happened)? Most discipline is handled behind closed doors. What discipline do you think took place then. I mean he didn't miss any games, any starts. Didn't have a fine or anything like. So yeah maybe he yelled at him, but that wouldn't be that good of discipline for that. I mean if most other guys would have done that, then they would have probably been gone. My point is if they were going to get rid of him, then that would have been the time to do it. So from that point on now, the rest falls on Marvin for not doing anything about it.
March 7, 200818 yr So, some role player comes out and takes a shot at the star player in the media and how is that going to be played out. Especially when one player did it and was roasted in the media by the Head Coach who wrongly continued to try and baby his star brat. So he should have told this to the media while he was still on the team? Who would do that? What shouldn't have happened is if he wanted credibility then he shouldn't have waited until now to say it. Do I think that he should have said it right after it happened? No, but I don't see why he would bring it up now. I'll tell ya, Chad Johnson is no saint, but the things people say about this "star brat" fuels his arguement....

The season was over; did you want him suspended for the next season and that hanging over the teams' head (again ASSUMING he did take a swing)? Do the Bengals have to announce any in-house fines????? How do you know other players would have been gone???? I totally disagree; tempers flair in the heat of the battle (P. Manning vs. Saturday during Super Bowl season- America's Game) Teams don't get rid of players for that. Has that ever happened in the NFL???????? Again, you nor I don't know that "nothing" was done IF he indeed did take a swing.
March 7, 200818 yr Are you saying you do not believe Smith? If not, why? I'm saying that I don't know that I do or don't believe him, but its awful convienient to make a statement that could potentially cause some rumblings within a locker room when you are playing for a division rival. I am just pointing out that there could be other motives... Also, this may not be completely fair, but I don't give as much credibility to a statement made by Shaun Smith as I would some other former players that have done more to earn trust.

So, the coach (Marvin) at that time comes out and says anyone talks about it and they are done with the Bengals and you want him to come out and talk about it and lose his job? Is that the route that you would have recommended for him to take. Star Brat does not need any fuel from anyone else. He provides plentry rocket fuel himself.
