No matter where it is held the TRUE fans will go watch. I think it should be held on a neutral court so Morehead is an obvious choice.

I've never been to Weatherby. How much seating does it hold?

 

It'll hold plenty for the girl's tournament. I'm not sure how much it holds. A wild guess would be 3500, but I don't know that at all.

Well then that would not be enough for the boys tournament, and that is what Old ball coach was wanting for the boys also.

I don't think Weatherby would support the boy's tourney. It is a nice facility for an older gym, but it would be a stretch for the boy's tourney.

Yeah, I think 5,000 in Weaterby would be like stuffing sardines into a can, but I would say 3,500 would be comfortable and packed.

Both Girls and Boys should play in Johnson Arena. I've seen many boys games within our region this season where you could count the fans in attendance. Just keep things equal and everything is fine.

The girls cannot play their first round in Ellis T because of the OVC tournament. The Eagles are hosting a game on Tuesday night.

Go, you are correct, I will make the drive once again to MSU. I have made it way to many times over the years, both boys and girls games. It would be nice to have the girls games more centrally located. Their games don't require that much seating. On a school bus, several teams can't make it to MSU in under 1 1/2 hrs. I really don't think there is that much home team edge either. but like you said, they will come.

I hope the 9th region refs screw up the 16th regional tournament as bad as the 16th region refs did tonight for the 9th. Sad sad sad. Maybe they should trade next year with W.V.

Leave your sour grapes over in the Conner / Highlands thread. Seems as though you are the only one who thought the officiating was the reason Highlands got beat.

I would venture to say that the KHSAA would see that as a Title IX violation unless you do the same for the boys.

 

 

That thought crossed my mind last night, GR. Besides, not many girls make it to the region every year, so getting to play at MSU in the 'big gym' is a big deal to some. Also it is a neutral court and gives no team a home advantage.
