Weatherby will be a great place to have the tourney. The last time I checked, the goals were 10 feet high, the free throw line is 15 feet from the rim and the 3 point line is 19'9". I like what Raceland Coach Bob Trimble said, "I don't care if we have to play outside, we're glad to be playing in the region." That is the attitude I like. It is what it is, let's play ball. I certainly hope no coach will use the venue as an excuse should their team lose.

I would venture to say that the KHSAA would see that as a Title IX violation unless you do the same for the boys.

That's the one negative, but I honestly never felt that Boyd County had much of an advantage when the 16th region was held at Summit Jr. High all those years. It would definitely be a better gate IMO if it were held at Boyd County Middle School.

Well you have four schools in this year's tournament who have right at a hour drive to get there in Raceland, Ashland, Boyd County and Russell. If the game were played at BCMS it would only be 10-15 minutes tops. West Carter's drive would be about 30 minutes longer than the drive they have to Morehead, and Bath Co's would be an hour longer as would Rowan County's drive. I'm not really sure of Morgan County, but it's usually East Carter playing in the tournament over Morgan Co., and their drive would be about the same, if not closer if held at BCMS.

I think Morehead is a perfect place for the tourney and I'm sure they will have the floor ready by Monday evening. I'm against playing the regional at any ones home court if we don't have to . As far as the girls playing all there regionals in Weatherby then the boys should to. Seems like our region is one of very few where people always think the boys should get the best of everything. It will never be the way it was so all you boys fans just except it that what you get and where you play at is the same as the girls will get.
