I think that any of the 8 teams could win their first round game. Hazard, Estill, Perry, and Letcher are the favorites in their games, but don't be surprised to see an upset. There will always be a cinderella team come tournament time.

Breathitt needs to play alot better if they want to do anything in the tourney. Smith needs more touches and Hollan needs to shoot more. If that happens and players like Taulbee step up they night be this years cinderella.

I don't think Cordia has ever won the region.

This tournament is Hazard's to lose.

I agree that it is Hazard's to lose but in order to beat Hazard you have to have good guard play and I think Estill and Cordia both have that. It will be a hard row to hoe for Hazard. They could have gotten a much easier draw.

If Hazard takes care of business, they'll win. If they don't, whoever gets hot and plays the best during the regional tournament will be the team because after Hazard, there isn't a clear favorite.

I think the key to beat Hazard is to stop Whitaker's penetration. It opens up a lot on the inside. Make them beat you on the outside. There isn't a team in the region that can match up to Hazard inside presence. Stop Whitaker and you stop Hazard. BUT, that is easier said than done.

Play Hazard a 3-2 zone packed in and make them shoot it on the outside...If they hit and beat you, you get beat, if they don't, I would like my chances, not very consistent from outside the arc!

LCC played them a zone and they shot 34% at home. The same could happen during the tourney and an upset could happen.

Everyone will have a hard time stopping Whitaker and Hazard.
