BS - transfers get hashed out on here during the pre-season "every" year so you might be new. Take a look at rosters throughout NKY and the state to make sure you have a clear picture before picking and choosing who to bash. Two other Conner transfers will be playing against them tonight.

You are in for a huge let down if you are basing success on "Major" D1 Bball since there is a "very" small handful in the entire state year-in and year-out.

You sure are passionate (bitter) for someone new to the area...gees

. What are the parents thinking? Why would they disrupt their family with a move just so their daughter can play basketball at Boone County? How many (if ANY) of these players have gone on to play major Division One basketball?

Tangie Seller Played D 1 at Sounthern Illinois. Look at the 9th, how many D one players have their been!? Not many. But How many of her Players have gone on to play at the next level? Dozens! 3 just from last years squad.(including one that didn't even start) She coaches like a college coach, and that only helps her players that go on to the next level. Girls that she has coached have gotten to play at the next level, that if they didn't play at boone and under nell, i'm sure would have never gotten that oppotunity!

Could someone help Cardfan07. First from the other post. HHS coach is a women, and I can't see her saying she fears anyone when it comes to basketball. So go tell the man you heard talking about fearing Conner he shouldn't worry in his first round game thats not who he plays. 2nd have you watched Conner or HHS play this year. If you think either team will have less than 10 TO you really need some help.

I played for her and went on to play D1 basketball, and I can tell you from experience...her practices were 10 times harder than any practice I went through in college. I was so prepared by her Physically and mentally to compete at that level from the moment I stepped on campus and was able to have a successful career...and THAT is why parents let students transfer in to play for her, so that they can be ready for the next level whether it is D1 or DIII.

When you say "2 of the best in the region" I assume you are talking about:

1. The transfer from Holy Cross

2. The transfer from Conner

After learning some of the history of the area, I have three questions:

1. If many of the "star" players in the region transfer to one school.... then how difficult would it be to take a group of these "star" players and beat the same schools that they transferred from? It wouldn't take a genius

2. What do the people in the region think about all of these transfers?

For example: It had to be difficult for the Conner crowd to watch the Boone County point guard (Conner transfer) get named the District MVP.

These two great players did not get where they are from playing w/their H.S. teams. I would be willing to bet they were developed in the summer w/their AAU teams. It is pretty easy to watch, especially girls bball, who plays AAU in the summer and who does not, IMO!

Wow! Conner had three players transfer to other schools?

Since Conner is (arguably) the best team in northern Kentucky.... even after losing three players to other teams.... they must have quite a coach! Has this accomplishment gone unnoticed?

As far a "Division One" basketball is concerned.... I was asking if any of the "stars" that transfer to Boone County have ever recieved a full ride scholarship for basketball? If not.... was the move really worth disrupting the entire family?

I have noticed that Boone County fans don't like to answer these questions. Why is that? I will have to assume it is because they do not like to have to admit to the honest the answers.

I transfered in to play for Nell and I had quite a successful career at a D1 university, if you consider 5th leading scorer in program history, career leader in 3's made, career leader in free throw percentage, and a great college education successful...

I do think that is great! A "great college education" makes it perfect! This is the type of story that I was looking for.

May I ask what college this was?

Did you transfer because you thought coach Fookes could get you to the D1 level?

I was the PA guy for the Dixie girls games this season, and having seen all the teams in the 9th Region Tourney, I think the winner of the Conner/Highlands game will win this thing.

Though I'll be pulling for the Lady Colonels to make a run, Conner and Highlands were the two best teams I saw play this year. Whoever takes that game tonight will probably be hoisting the trophy when it's all said and done.

On another note, kudos to all the players, coaches, parents and fans who make up the 9th Region. There are lots of classy people out there. Though I did hear an occasional off-sides remark during the season, the vast majority of people are good folks who made this season very enjoyable for me.

GO LADY COLONELS!

Is your daughter enrolled in high school yet? I am starting to think that you are really fishing for opinions about Boone's program, in particular their coach, and if it would be beneficial to attend BCHS.

I did transfer to play for her because I knew she would prepare me for that level, which was my dream. And I did make that decision on my own, not my parents or anybody else, I knew where I wanted to go with my career, and I did what I had to do to get there, and that was play for Boone County.

I can understand why you might wonder if I were "fishing". However, I am not.

1. Never in a million years would I move my family so that my child could play at another school.

2. If I were a parent that would move for basketball.... I would not move to Boone County.

I'm simply trying to understand the history of the area.... and WHY people would transfer to Boone County. So far.... I don't have a very clear picture.

Region 9 Winner! You can start a thread on the other subject, however, it will not be a new one.

Actually, 4 players transferred from Conner. All are playing on teams currently in the Regional playoffs. 2 at Highlands, 1 at Notre Dame and 1 at Boone Co.
