Lincoln's 6th, 7th, and 8th grade all went undefeated in Salt River Conference play, and all three went very deep in the state tournament. Who cares if you dominated JV. That is worthless.

 

Edington, Spurlin, Gilbert and Owsley all return. They have some nice freshman, the cupboard isn't bare. Maybe not as full as the last two years, but not bare. The other BC fan was the one talking about going to Danville to get players, not me. I have no problem with BC.

 

Yes, your middle school program is good and they had a great year, but this year's 8th grade team and BC's 8th grade team will continue their rivalry for the next 4 years and it would be foolish to believe that it is all in Lincoln's favor. Last year we beat Lincoln to win the Salt River Conference, this year they beat us to win the Salt River Conference. Undefeated regular season is fine, but as the next 4 years play out, I look forward to continuing to battle Lincoln for district and regional titles in the near future. They will be great games, but it's not like your current group of upcoming 8th graders are unbeatable because they aren't. State tournament in middle school isn't accurate anyways. It's all about your draw and there were quite a few teams I know are better than Lincoln's that weren't even there.

 

Not once did I say we are "going" to Danville to get players. We don't "go" to Danville to get players. Danville players who happen to end up at Boyle come to play for Coach Bottoms. That's all. Forgive me for being privy to information about a Danville player who very well could end up at Boyle County it's just a matter if he is still going to come next year. That is why I said don't be surprised if we happen to get another one. We don't need to go to Danville to get players, but if they want to come to Boyle and are eligible to come to Boyle, then we will welcome them with open arms. So keep your "Beat West Danville" t-shirts handy. I sure hope those shirts don't have a racial undertone to them. It's not like we haven't had Danville transfers play for us before and vice versa. Awful funny how they popped out after Christian and Spencer arrived.

Boyle County also brings back plenty of experience next year and their is some talent folks haven't seen that will have a chance to be seen next year as well. Our cupboard isn't bare as you seem to think. Time will tell. Good luck in the region.

 

Our 8th grade team played Lincoln's a total of 5 times this year. We won twice, you guys won 3 times including the one game that mattered the most. I look forward to the future.

Yes. but they weren't unbeaten against 12th Region competition were they? I know that all 3 Somerset teams beat alll the Lincoln Co. teams at least once and I think twice in 6th and 7th Grade. Wasn't that right?

Bottom line,we are talking about Lincoln Co. and Boyle Co. in basketball! Not bad for two communities that pride ourselves on football. We both actually have above average basketball programs to!

Keeton started school in the Lincoln system, and finished in the Lincoln system. You are right, things would have been different.

I don't recall any "bragging" of getting Danville players. I recall a sarcastic statement about your cute t-shirts and simply stated to "keep them handy, we might be getting another one, which is true. That's all. Perrin was kicked off/quit? Danville's team his junior year and wanted to continue playing his senior year and only had one option. William's family moved into the Boyle County district after his sophomore year. Even Danville people will tell you that they had no idea Christian would be as good a ball player that he is. Both were coincidences and have gone on to be productive student athletes in the Boyle County system. Danville's loss is our gain in these two cases.

 

Perrin may have carried us last year, but he didn't do it by himself. Much like Williams didn't do it all himself this year. Jordan Auhmiller has been huge for us this year and we need Bryce Perry back on the court as well. As I stated earlier, our future is brighter than you may think.

 

Maybe I was jumping the gun on the racial undertones, maybe not, I was simply stating that I hope there aren't any. Just because it originated at Boyle County does not mean that there aren't racial undertones behind it. Even though people don't like to talk about racism doesn't mean that it isn't present.
