Weakside Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Walton-Verona moves on to face Simon Kenton in the finals of the 32nd district.
madman Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Congrats to the Lady Cats. Better bring your "A" game Friday.
CatPride24 Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Grant County played well, but in the end the Lady Bearcats were able to overcome an aweful night of shooting, especially from the line (4-15 in the first half). Hargett played well, as did Bowling. Good luck to them in the District Finals against SK. Play up to your potential and you could be District Champs.
Trueblue23 Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Congratulations to the WV ladies and the coaching staff! Good luck on Friday!
Weakside Posted February 27, 2008 Author Posted February 27, 2008 Congrats to Coach Rosen and the Lady Bearcats. It's been an up and down year for WV but Coach Rosen certainly deserves more respect than she received from certain parents/players during senior night.

Congrats and get it done against Simon Kenton! Free throw Shooting, work on it! You all played good and made shot's when you needed to! It was a good game. Glad to see you all advance! Go Walton! :thumb: Congrats Girls!
Mr. Athletics Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Congratulations to Walton Verona for a good district road win. Grant County had a lot of adversity this year losing their point guard. Congrats to them as well.
CincySportsFan Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Congrats to Walton Verona! Tough game tonight, as most expected it to be. Free throw shooting (or lack thereof!) kept this one from being a blowout earlier. Good luck in the championship against SK. Also, good luck to Grant's seniors. Sad to see you lose your final game on your own home court.
cheapseats Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Congrats to Coach Rosen and the Lady Bearcats. It's been an up and down year for WV but Coach Rosen certainly deserves more respect than she received from certain parents/players during senior night. Can you elaborate?
STRIKE3 Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 It constantly amazes me, how some threads have to turn into bashing players, coaches or refs. Either talk about the Walton Verona and Grant County players, or this one is done and we'll sort through the offenders.
kyrebel Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Back to the topic. Congrats to the Lady Bearcats! Good win. The kids played very hard last night. It was great to see them get after it. Hargett and Heeger had solid games on both ends of the court. As a matter of fact, I thought the whole team played hard on defense. Great effort girls keep up the intensity. We will need all the defense we have to compete on Friday night against a stronge, physical SK.

The Lady Bearcats played hard on both ends of the court and locked down on defense when they needed to. I thought with 3 minutes left in the game and they went into a stall they were headed for trouble (when your the better team you shouldn't play not to loose but keep attacking the basket)but they were able to pull it out.:thumb:
24smom Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Congratulations to Walton Verona for a good district road win. Grant County had a lot of adversity this year losing their point guard. Congrats to them as well. Same here! Congrats to both teams on a fun game to watch! Grant County gave it everything & just came up a little short. They came back from behind & took a lead in this game in the 3rd. Just couldn't quite hang on. Girls, hold your heads high...you gave it everything you had & more! Sarah Johnson did a great job at point last night & led Grant County with 21 pts. Good luck to Sarah, Selena McIntosh & Bethany Hopperton, all seniors at Grant County, on their future endeavors.

Do any of these girls have hopes of continuing their basketball careers? Or any of the Walton-Verona Players (I would imagine Hargett, but anyone else). Quite a lot of talent graduating from these two teams.
