Senior Night Question

Featured Replies

Okay, I kind of have a bone to pick. I don't understand why an A.D. would schedule a tough game for a kid to play on senior night. Senior night like homecoming is sort of a special night for kids. Why not schedule a team that you are pretty sure you can beat instead of a tough one? Let the kids remember that last home game as a happy memory. What does everyone else think?

Why do you think it is the AD? At our high school the coach makes his own schedule.

That away if you beat the tough team the senior could remember that it was a tough team they played. Not some team that hasnt won any games at all...

Play the best to be the best is the only way you will be in the upper tier of the State and thats what Mason County does(im sure thats who your referring). The Royals play anybody anywhere whenever they fully expected it to be a tough game but they fully expected to Win also,Bryan Station was just better on this night as Mason was on there 13 point win over BS earlier,Its basketball you just never know. Both teams will benefit greatly from these types of games.:thumb:

Kids usually 'get up' for these kind of games as well. Would be a good way to get them used to playing a big game with a larger crowd.

If the boys would have hit anything ,it would have been a good memory. Two out of twenty one is not too good. If you think of it ,if they would have hit 4 more threes they would have won. That would have only been 6 of 21 .Don't blame AD .

Not many teams can say we shut down the #1 team in the state and beat them on senior nite on their own floor !

Madison Central also had a very tough senior night game, Scott County.

My senior night we played Highlands who was ranked #1 in the region at the time and we came away with a 1 point win, one of the most memorable games I played in high school. So I guess you can look at it either way.

Very tough region! Could be headed by the next state champs !

Probably for preparation purposes! Why schedule an easy game thats not going to prepare you for postseason play?

I agree. Well said. :thumb:

MOst of the these games are contracted in two years cycles and if you look most of the years the teams you play are the same at the end of each year. Not much variety in most schedules.

Also, what do you do if you are a bad team? It would be hard to find one that is not as good as you. LOL

Regardless of an occasion or an event, you want to play good competition and especially, before Districts.

Ceremonies, are for recognition and Families, games are for Players/Coaches.

I hear you one this one Conner scheduled Holmes on there senior night.
