February 20, 200818 yr UC was listed on the "Bubble Watch" this week on espn.com: Cincinnati [12-12 (7-5), RPI: 71, SOS: 5] There's no reason not to take a peek at the Bearcats, whose SOS-enhanced RPI has them close enough to striking distance. The overall record is not good, but the last three at home are all very winnable. If they can steal one on the road at G'town, Pitt or UConn, the Bearcats could end up with 11 Big East wins. Would that be enough with a decent conference tournament run? It's not impossible, even though it would be hard to recall the last at-large team that had a five-game nonconference losing streak and also lost to Belmont and Bowling Green. Pretty unlikely, but not impossible. Winning one of those three on the road is going to be a huge task, as would taking two wins in the tournament. But again, not impossible. Good news is that unless they blow up, they should be solid for the NIT given their RPI. If they could have only pulled off the upset on UConn (1 point loss after being ahead 12 late) and avoided one of the ugly losses to either Belmont, Bowling Green, or St. John's. If . . . .
February 20, 200818 yr Ah, but they must first get by that juggernaut that is the University of South Florida Bulls tonight at FTA. The Bearcats have to scared to death right now, don't you think? :jump::jump::jump:

The Bearcats have to scared to death right now, don't you think? :jump::jump::jump: I'm sure they're very worried. USF has one of the best players in the conference and UC has no one to stop him.
February 20, 200818 yr Author I dont see how. They have some bad, BAD losses. I'd only put two in the "bad, bad" loss category - Belmont and Bowling Green - both of which occurred very early in the season and while Warren was out. And only one in the "bad" category - St. John's, though that one was more recent.

February 21, 200818 yr I don't see UC getting in this year but Mick has done a great job coaching this year. He has a team of misfits and have put together some nice wins.
February 21, 200818 yr Bowling Green and St John's are the only bad Ls. If they go 4-1 to close out the season with the loss on the road, they have an argument. They played Memphis St within 10, X within 5 on the road and UConn within 1. Wins over top 20 RPI UL on the road and Pitt. Top 50 RPI wins over Cuse and at WVU. Top 100 win over Nova and at Seton Hall. When it comes to resume, you don't want to compare UC and UK, and I'll leave it at that...
February 21, 200818 yr Where did I say that??? They played Memphis St within 10, X within 5 on the road and UConn within 1. That means nothing to the committe. You don't consider Belmont a bad loss?
February 21, 200818 yr That means nothing to the committe. You don't consider Belmont a bad loss? Just listing what the committee would look at. If Belmont moves up 1 RPI spot it's Top 100 and not a bad loss...
