Slam Dunk Contest

I could listen to Kenny and Chuck commentary all day. They are the greatest.

Chuck: "I would go say hello to T.O. but I'm afraid he'd start crying."

Very entertaining contest tonight. My wife was even glued to the tube and she isn't exactly a basketball fan. Green's dunk w/ the blowing out of the candle was an awesome idea. Howard really had the best 2 dunks with the Superman dunk and the backboard dunk.

I did hear the announcers say that behind the backboard was a new dunk but I'm pretty sure that Andre Iguodala did one very similar a couple of years back.

I thought the same thing. Either way, his head was on the opposite side of the backboard...just unbelievable.

My wife watched it as well and I think enjoyed it as much as I did.

I wonder if they will ever bring back H-O-R-S-E to the Saturday night activities. At least PIG, I would love to see some of the games greatest compete in the event. More big names would likely sign up for that than the dunk contest. Just an idea (Not mine, Bill Simmons harps on it all the time).

I heard they did it in the D-League game this year but not sure who even saw it.

If I remember correctly Iggy hit his head when he did his. Impressive either way.

That one made me laugh out loud along with

"that is what cranberry juice looks like, I have never seen it without vodka"

They are the only reason to watch the NBA on TNT! They both are hilarious! Barkley was on Letterman last night and it was a sight!

I would love to see Charles do more actual game commentary as he always keeps it entertaining.

Kenny to Reggie Miller, "You just told him to represent."

Reggie: "I know."

Kenny: "You aren't going to pick him."

Reggie: "No, I'm not."

Kenny: "You're a back stabber."

WOW, Howard was sick..

You mean he did that and he was sick tonight?

Wow

Howard was Superman tonight, LITERALLY!

Dwight killed the competition. I hope he is in it next year too, it was a joy to watch him dunk the ball like that.

They talk like they are in their living room and hanging out watching games and having a few cold ones. that is what makes them so good to listen to.

Shooting Stars Competition- San Antonio

Skillz Competition- Williams

Three Point Competition- Kapano

Dunk Contest- Dwight Howard

Howard was just ridiculous. A bunch of us were sitting around watching it and were just cracking up every time they showed the Superman dunk. I saw an interview with him from after the contest and he said it would be tough to come up with much more to do for next year, so I guess it remains to be seen if he will be back.

Just to give everyone an idea of just how sick Howard is, he petitioned the NBA to be able to use a 12 foot goal for the contest, which they denied.

I plan on petitioning my church league to allow me to use a 6 foot goal and hope they are more gracious than the NBA was to Howard. I will surely do some "sick" dunks for all the fans. :ylsuper:
