Heck, one year he waited to have surgery until the season was about to start when he could have had it after the previous season. Isn't this practically the same as Roger Clemens? No-one seems to cap on him for doing it, but when Shaq starts doing it late in his career, all of a sudden everyone thinks it's wrong.

Roger wasn't sure if he wanted to play and he was NOT under contract. Shaq decides at the last minute that he doesn't want to play the entire season DESPITE him being under contract. Big difference.
