I have not seen Hood play, but saw the video of him. I think it is like comparing apples and oranges as they are different players. Hood is a big guard at 6'6" who can drive the lane and dunk over 2 players (much like a Rex Chapman, but very few were as good as King Rex). Ferguson is a Lofton type who both make nice drives to the basket, but never see any dunk finishes. But both Lofton and Ferguson can nail them from way downtown way beyond the arc. If your looking for a dunking display in warm ups then Hood will get you oohing in the pre-game. If your looking for a pure shooter who can nail them from downtown then Ferg is your man. Chapman was a great scorer from all over the court with his athletic ability, but not a great shooter like Lofton. The comparisons are close to the same for Hood and Ferg. Just my perspective as both are top junior players, but have their own distinct game and style.

Hood should be the fav for Mr. Basketball going in. Ferguson is a good scorer, especially with the style of play Elliott runs with the lack of offensive sets and more running and gunning. Not sure he is a Mr. Basketball type player though.

I believe it will come down to Hood and Phares. Hood will be recruited by more big name schools. However he lives in part of the state where he will not get as much as exposure. Phares will be on one of the top teams in the state in the toughest region in the state. Living in the Lexington area Phares will get alot more exposure. As well as playing for the premier program in the state. If Hood commits to UK it will be very hard for Phares to win it. It will be very intesting to see it pan out.

FBI I haven't heard of Rash--Tell me more about him?? I know Montgomery must have a nice team with only 4 losses and playing Mason close.

A great defender. He is the reason the Indians have managed to keep it close agaisnt the Royals twice this year and beat GRC twice. He guarded Darius Miller and Robbie Stenzel and required only a little help. Last year he gave a valiant effort guarding Preston Knowles. He can guard people on the inside and outside as evidenced by his good job on Miller in the last meeting with the Royals.

Brandon Rash from Montgomery will be raise his stock very soon!

Playing in Louisville's 7th Region (2nd toughest region in the state) and top-tier tounaments the KOB, Defenders, and LIT and leading your team to a title in one and 3rd place finish in another will also get you exposure. Hood played in the LIT as well and fared well with his team being eliminated in the 2nd round. Hood is the favored. This board does not give much consideration outside of certain areas in Kentucky and none to Louisville. Anyway you look at it, Jenkins is in the race. And there will definately be more contenders as next season rolls around.

If you think Ferguson is "just a scorer" check out post # 53.:ylsuper::rolleyes:

Can I just say that the top junior in the state could be anybody. When next year is over we will find out who it is.

Besides the fact to see who wins state and provide entertainment. Is this not the reason they play the games:banana:

I didn't say he was just a scorer, I said he was a good scorer. He is a good player, I just don't feel he is a Mr. Basketball type player. Any team would love to have a player like him in high school.

Not necessarily.

Again, not necessarily. In the end, rankings are nice, schollys are great!

Has Billy G offered Hood Scholarship?
