:lol::lol::lol::lol: I was just downtown Cincy and I drove past Fountain Square and there is a group of crazy Highlands fans with lawn chairs sitting on the Square watching the Highlands highlight tape on the giant LCD.:lol::lol::lol:

 

 

Funny thing is, I know everyone of them has seen that tape a million times.

Is it a definite that Highlands will head up to Ohio and play Cincinnati Colerain early in the 2008 season? I have heard that Colerain could be down quite a bit from previous seasons... what are the Bluebirds' chances?

It seems that they are experiencing a bit of a coaching overhaul, and I've read that they lose 19 of 22 starters from last year.

 

It really does look like, at least early in the season (which is when HHS will play them), that Colerain will be down AT LEAST SOME (AND MAYBE A LOT) compared to 2007.

Colerain at Colerain is going to be a monumental task for the Birds next yr. Make no bones about it, the Cards are going to re-load.

 

I have heard rumors that the Birds may be forced to move from 5A back to 3A with the addition of Cooper High School. Any truth to this? Might not be for a couple years but just what I heard.

Highlands will definately be 5A in '08. We'll worry about 3A and district if and when that happens.

The Highlands program is good enough to win in any class any year except for 6a which they might be able win some years.

If that's the criteria for being down, then HHS is losing 18 of 22 starters...and we plan to win the 5A state title!! Down will have to be re-defined. As bad as Colerain beats people, I believe they will have PLENTY of experience returning!

When's the NFL draft? I've been hearing that Sean Sester (HHS alum) might get drafted. What are his chances of being selected?

Does anyone know if HHS keeps information regarding records, such as individual records for passing, rushing, etc all-time for HHS players? If so, does anyone here have access to this?

I finished watching the HHS highlights DVD last night, and here are a few observations:

 

1. Drew Simons made some fantastic plays this past year, especially on some 2-point conversions. He didn't receive the kind of attention that guys like Cecil, Conner, Hurtt, Collinsworth, Ball or Stein did this year, but he was right up there in terms of importance to the team's all-around success.

 

2. Some of Austin Collinsworth's interceptions were ESPN highlight-worthy! I think this guy definitely needs to get in some on the offensive side of the ball in 2008.

 

3. LN was right all along... HHS did have a bona fide passing game this year. If you just look at the stats on paper, it doesn't look all that impressive, but there were some very nice pass plays for the 'Birds throughout the entire year, and it seems that some occurred during key moments.

 

4. Highlands' offensive line was scary good in 2007.

 

5. That 15 minutes or so of the highlights for the HHS-CCH playoff game are probably the most entertaining minutes of TV/movie watching I've EVER seen!

 

Also, I mentioned this in my previous post, but no one responded. Does anyone out there know if records are kept for HHS' statistics (like most rushing yards, passing yards, etc)? Not state records (which the KHSAA keeps), but school records. If so, how could I get a copy of these?

Many around the state don't seem to place much importance on that last "s."

 

And on a somewhat related note, I believe the school that Beavis and Butthead attended was named "Highland High School," so you can imagine that we cake-eaters place a great deal of emphasis on that last "s."
