Dual threat QB Orhian Johnson has signed LOI with Ohio State.

 

He is more than likely gonna play in the secondary. He's 6'4" with a 40" verticle.

I'm hoping Pryor choose PSU...

What it sounds like to me is that if he went to Penn State he would be going because that is what his parents want and that isn't how it should be. While I think it would be funny if he disappointed both Ohio State and Michigan I don't think he should do something because of what people are telling him.

 

Also I read where he is an all state basketball player also and he hasn't had much time to spend on the recruiting process which makes sense. No need to rush it. To be honest the kid is probably running a very hectic life right now; fortunate, but hectic.

Pryor woke up ready to sign with Ohio State. His dad talked him out of it. His dad wants him to go to Penn State, who has practically been dorming at his dads house.

 

The first part is just speculation on your part.

 

Here are "the facts" (this and 2 cents will get you a cup of coffee):

 

Pryor's dad seems dead set on him going to PSU. His dad said that "he didn't see the trust" in some of the other coaches that were recruiting Pryor. Pryor's dad said to his son, after exchanging their preferences for schools, that "playing immediately may not be the best way to make progress."

 

"When we talked (Tuesday morning), I gave him my choice and he gave me his," said Pryor's father, Craig. "They weren't the same. But it's his decision."

 

Craig Pryor said he did not pick Ohio State, but he did not indicate what school his son chose.

 

Craig Pryor also told his son that playing immediately might not be the best way to make progress. He said it wouldn't hurt if he sat back and watched while he tries to learn to read defenses.

 

"He's not worried about playing right away," Craig Pryor said. "It will give him time to learn and adjust to the speed of the game."

 

Now I don't know about you, but it sure as heck sounds like his choice is UM and his dad's is PSU. What does that mean? He'll probably sign with OSU, but only AFTER he postpones his announcement at least 2 more times.

Not speculation it's still OSU vs the field. However, he should take all the time he needs. He is extremely busy.

Interesting, I see it as OSU out of the picture.......and I think it would be a bit of buckeye speculation to say that he "woke up ready to sign with OSU" yesterday. How in the world could anyone possibly know that?

 

Reading in between the lines, I've gathered this: His dad telling him that playing right away isn't important makes me believe that when the two exchanged preferences, Pryor's was Michigan. Obviously, his dad is pushing PSU hard. We'll see how it works out in the next few days.

I see what you're saying but could always go by the theory that he didn't say it was OSU but he didn't say it wasn't, did he? And there is the outside chance that he chose the longshot of Oregon without a visit I guess...

It's all he said, she said at this point. If he chooses Oregon without taking a visit it would be the first I've heard of a recruit of this profile doing so.

 

If his dad's choice and his aren't the same, and his dad's choice is PSU and "playing early isn't important", then what else could his choice have been? He certainly won't get a chance to play early at OSU.

 

Personally, I'm done with the whole cherade. He can go where he likes, but the grandstanding and what not needs to stop.

Old Joe is going to be unhappy for some time. He now has some stiff competition for guys that fit the spread offense that Purdue used to get easily.
