Is there a possibility of McCain/Huckabee ticket?

I think it looks more like it after tonight but a lot and I MEAN A LOT of time is left between now and the convention in September.

I'm thinking the same thing. Would be a good ticket.

I would prefer a Huckabee/McCain ticket.

With McCain's age of 71, whomever is chosen as VP, it is an important selection. Much more than whom would be chosen as Huckabee's VP.

Huckabee will not be on any ticket. If McCain gets the nomination, he would be crazy to put Huckabee on his ticket. If McCain is smart (I have serious doubts), he will pick a conservative as his running mate.

I think you mean a fiscal conservative, correct?

I think it will go that way too. Someone that throws a bone to the fiscal conservatives in the party that are feeling left out and are not motivated to come and support anyone.

I would prefer this as well, be great to see Huckabee pull through.

No, I mean a real conservative. One person who is both a social and fiscal conservative who has a track record to prove it.

Reading some of the stuff that AcesFull writes, I actually think he meant Conservative. in which he would be wrong.

I was right,

It appears that Huckabee is trying to set himself up to be the Vice-Presidental candidate if McCain wins..............can't see that ticket having too much of a chance against either Democrat though.

Really? Who did McCain name as his running mate? I must have missed that bit of news.

His point was on whether you meant fiscal conservative. He said you meant full, fiscal and social conservative. And then you indicated that. He replied with he was right about what you were thinking.

I agree. I think that McCain wants to win and do not expect him to further antagonize conservatives by putting Huckabee on the ticket. Huckabee is doing well with evangelicals in red states (and Iowa) but would add nothing to the ticket.

The Romney folks are not going to climb aboard the Straight Talk Express just because Huckabee becomes its caboose.

I think the person has to be from the South, though. He cannot afford to lose ANY of the southern states to the Dem.

I agree that it has to be a full blown conservative but I think it has to be from the South. BUT...

McCain's support comes from the moderates and Independents, he cannot go overboard so much pandering to the conservatives that he loses the support he has with those 2 groups.
