February 8, 200818 yr Saying McCain needs a conservative to get the right wing vote would be like saying a Democrat needs Kucinich to get the tree hugger vote.Let me just say, you're flat out wrong.:lol: According to exit polls, Romney won the conservative votes in McCain's home state of Arizona. I agree that McCain will win most of the conservative votes in November, but he will not win the election unless conservatives turn out to vote in large numbers. That will not happen if McCain names Huckabee or a moderate as his running mate. That is why he made so many promises to conservatives at the CPAC meeting yesterday. McCain made a very good speech yesterday but naming a conservative running mate will be necessary to convince conservatives that he intends to follow through on the many promises that he made.
