I'm a Republican and I'm voting for a Democrat....

Featured Replies

Who else is with me?

I just can not vote for McCain. I don't like just about anything the man ever says. I don't trust him and I don't want him to be POTUS.

I have read up as much as I can and weighed the options.

Unless something major changes, in the general election, I will be casting my vote for Barack Obama. *

I will not vote for Hillary Clinton, should she win the nomination.

How are you a Republican? Which specific Republican values do you stand for?

IMO, if I truly believe what Republicans tend to believe in (more accurately conservative) then I can't identify with a Democrat's political views, regardless of how new and hip and NOT in Bush's party he seems.

That means they are even as I am a Democrat voting Republican in the Presidential General Election.

But aren't there multiple issues in which you identify with the Republican candidates on?

And multiple issues I would identify with Democrats on.

Big one that is non-negotiable for me is the issue of abortion. Democrats give me NO choices of a pro-life candidate.

I voted for Bush twice and if he were able to run again I'd do it a 3rd time. :thumb:

The new hip and non-Bush thing has 0 bearing whatsoever.

Well then I jumped to conclusions. Have you had some kind of a personal political transformation? Because I don't get how you could vote for Obama but not Hilary, or Bush but not McCain.

If its Obama v. McCain, I'll probably vote Democrat. I'd rather vote for an honest liberal than a make-believe conservative.

I'd go 3rd party or abstain, I don't agree with either of them.

I've thrown my vote away once and we ended up with 8 years of Bill.

That was your fault?????????:fight::fight::fight::fight:

I understand your position but this is a mute point for me. This has been debated for 30 years and nothing has changed. Over the last decade, we have a majority of conservative judges but still they haven't overturned Roe v Wade. imo, this is completely political propaganda. Republicans say they are conservative but they actually raise the deficit. They talk about abortion but really haven't changed much since the 1960's. They talk about controlling the spending but still support a 100 yr. campaign in Iraq. They would rather $$ go to a war in Iraq that had nothing to do with the U.S. (didnt attack on 9/11) & help the Iraqi people instead of providing healthcare.

I understand many republican don't like the Clintons but was the 90's really that bad??

While I believe that Obama is clearly the most likeable, I will not be able to cast a vote for someone supporting a number of far left-wing issues. He is just too far from the middle on a number of issues for me.
