I think Rush will argue that it is not the influence of right-win (Freudian slip you had there) talk radio has waned but rather the Rep put forth a candidate (McCain) that was not a true conservative.

Let me say I never listen to talk radio unless you consider Dave Ramsey right wing radio.

 

So, I can't give a listener account, just was watching one of the pundits talk about the Rush/McCain battle.

It may be revived by this election. There is the possibility of so many new voting blocs coming into the equation. New voices means new discussions and new arguments. That could lead to a renewed interest in talk radio.

I disagree. I think talk radio has passed it's peak and the new media for political discussion is on the Internet in sites such as BGP.

You've got a point there. I would also take it one step further by noting Bill Clinton is almost directly responsible for the rise of right-wing talk radio. A Hilary presidency might give RWTR a big shot in the arm; a second golden age if you will. It will need to accessorize a bit, the way O'Reilly tries to do with his Web site.

I used to listen to talk radio a lot. I don't do so much any more. Rush's ego has gotten so big, he makes me sick. On loan from God. Give me a break. I wish God would call in the loan. Willie Cunningham is a baffoon. Glen Beck is absurd. The only talk show host that has any credibility with me is Mike McConnell. Very reasonable and balanced in his positions. Thinks things through; conservative but not a puppet to far right conservative thinking.

Add Sean Hannity, Neal Boortz, Mark Levin to the list, not to mention the king of loons himself, Michael Savage.

I've heard McConnell maybe once or twice when I'm in that part of the world, but I don't remember that much about him. That's a good thing.

why is it if the dems get elected, people think they will take everything? Oh wait , its because of am talk radio telling the flock over and over and over that they will take the fairness doctrine, take your guns, make abortions available on every street corner and turn your kids gay then let them get married:eek:, scarey isnt it:scared:, and i didnt ever mention 911. If they can scare theyre listeners with all that just imagine what they can do with 911. Honestly if you cant tell already, I dont think that there is very much "fair" in talk radio these days , so really who cares.

I used to be a committed WLW listener. He is the only one I can stand now. And if I do listen to him, it is ONLY on the weekend when I am driving somewhere.

 

Bill Cunningham is horrible and over the top too much.

 

Tell you how much I dislike them. I would prefer to listen to Tracy Jones.
