OK I see although quite a few said Covington Catholic was there worst game but you know when throw up that many threes you are bound to get beat by the good ones. Maybe they (Elliott) should try a new approach like posting up or something and then maybe they will start beating quality teams instead of just running the score up on the less talented teams.:thumb::banana:

 

 

I would probly agree. Covington Catholic and Rose Hill were they're two worst games. Elliott did not change the way they played against Rose Hill or Covingtion, it caused them to get beat. I agree with you on this. When the threes dont fall, post up. That was very well put. I would have to disagree with you on the beating quality teams part though. They have beat more than a few quality teams this year.

 

In another case 'running up the score on less taltented teams', i have a very strong opinion about that. Elliott goes 3 deep on their bench, and alteast one of the three step up when they are needed, and play as well if not better than the starting five. Elliott does not run the score up on purpose, you cant tell your team to stop giving 110%. They are the most respectful bunch of boys Ive seen play in a long time.

I'm going to try a different approach. I think there are four groups.

1. THOSE WITH A LEGITIMATE SHOT TO WIN THE REGION: Elliott County, Rose Hill, East Carter;

2. OUTSIDE SHOT TO WIN: Bath County, Fairview;

3. COULD PULL AN UPSET OR TWO, BUT NOT THE WHOLE THING: Ashland, Raceland, West Carter, Boyd County, Rowan County

4. NO SHOT: Russell, Greenup, Morgan, Menifee, Fleming, Lewis

 

The teams in each group are in no particular order.

If Elliott should play quality teams, and Elliott likes to play "in region" teams, then please (RH) help quell all this talk next season. Let's actually have a Rose Hill/Elliott (regular season) game NEXT SEASON!

 

I have often wondered why the regular season matchup between the two schools ended a few years ago. Elliott would schedule RH...heck they played in the days when many other schools in the region boycotted the Hill.

 

PLEASE --LET'S PLAY REGULAR SEASON!

 

From what I understand Rose Hill wanted to move the game from the season opening slot to later in the season and Elliott didn't want to so they did schedule each other. True or untrue that is what I was told.

 

I wish they could work it out and get back to playing every year.

Elliott played RH when OJ and company were there and took some beatings. When OJ and company left RH didnt want to play anymore. Go figure:rolleyes:

Rose Hill dropped Elliott first. I'm pretty certain the last game listed above was an All A game and was not on the regular schedule.

Rose Hill did drop Elliott when they downgraded their schedule a bit while rebuilding with younger players. I am sure no offense was taken and it was an understandable decision. I would love to see these two small schools renew the series, though!

Your last statement is incorrect. Newman is correct all the games he listed were regular season. Rose Hill traveled to Elliott in 2006 for the class a.

 

I'm not trying to start a fight but I have first hand account of what happened. Both schools were interested in renewing the contract. Rose Hill wanted to move the game back and Elliott didn't want to so they agree to part ways. No animosity, no hard feelings.

2004 game was played on Dec 2 , 2005 game was played on Nov 30 . The game I did not include was 2006 played on Jan 16 90-81 Elliott won. (According to the KHSSA scoreboard). RH continued to play for two more years.
