Mason County 81 St. Patrick 59

Mosler is a freshman, and she is a sub. If she is more talented than Mason's subs, then what of it. Chambers was more talented a a freshman that most other freshmen, did that mean she shouldn't have played agianst other freshmen? I really don't get the point. And if a team loses the momentun of it's starters because they were on the bench, then that's their problem, not the other team's. Are you saying the losing team shouldn't try to capitalize on that?

If the losing team just quits trying because they are down 30 points, then what are the second five on the other team going to gain from that? Sure they are getting varsity playing time, but if they are not being challenged, what are they learning from their time in the game? To me it is win-win. The losing team gets a chance to cut the lead and the winning teams subs get to actually get challenged on the floor and have to defend their lead.

And it wasn't like it was all St. Pats starters on the floor that they were having to play. St. Pat had subs in, too.

I witnessed a freshmen game this year between St. Patrick and Mason County and Mosler was on the floor for the freshmen team. This injury could have happened in this game as well and then what would the converstation be about right now? Who would be the target for the blame? Lets see, it could have happened in the freshmen season, the jv game, or the varsity game where this young lady played all three. Its a contact sport and while I am very sorry it happened to this fine young lady, it doesn't matter regardless of who the opponent is, who the players are on the court, if it is going to happen it will happen.

I wasn't trying to blame anyone. I was just saying that the caller to the LI was concerned the MC subs not getting playing time and about the MC starters risking being injured. I was just remarking that an SP sub got injured by a MC sub so SP (in hindsight) would have probably preferred that the MC starters stayed in the game.

Just A comment. Not blaming anyone, it happened and is unfortunate.

I thought this conversation was more about the subs playing. I brought up Mosler again to agree with the response by Shamrock fan to sumroyal that Mosler was a freshman so it wasn't as if SP was playing a Senior against the MC subs who were aparrantly, according to sumroyal are freshmen and 8th graders.

How is Katelyn Smith doing at Mason?

How is Katelyn Smith doing at Mason?

She was starting at the beginning of the year. She's getting pretty good minutes off the bench, but she's still very young and not scoring much, but she should be better next year. I'd say she's been playing alright.

Who is she/what grade? Did she play Jr. high at MC?

She didn't start at the first of the year, in fact she didn't start until the game after Simon Kenton. The 5th spot was operated by another 8th grader in Kierra Gibbs.

I agree Smith along with the rest of the bench is very young but by their sophomore year, they will be just fine.

Mosler might not have started but recently she has played more with the first five than the second. Talent wise she is not second five.

So, did she break her hand and is out for the season?

That's what I was told (about Mosler).

I thought I remembered that name, Katelyn Smith from the Mason vs. Ripley back in November. Are you sure she didn't start that game?

She started the game when thay played either Pendleton or Ripley in the Mt. Dew Lady Royals Shootout. Several players were out with mono, and she started I'm pretty sure. She also started a preseason game at Bourbon County.

How many of these players are playing in college?

Not sure I get the point you are trying to make??? Litzinger? Klee?
