Analyst are completely different them fans! How can you even make that comparison. Analyst are paid to criticize and analize, that's what they do. If you would read my post careful and not just see what you want o see you will see my point.

Sure, you paid your money. You can act like an idiot if you want, my point is to you .......what good does it do? To make you feel better? Is that why? If so, you're an ignorant fan. You put your feelings in front of your teams, period. It doesn't help your team at all and it only makes things worst. That's my point. I never said you didn't have a right to act like a fool if you want but all you do is hurt the reputation of the fanbase and eventually the program.

Listen here, don't start the name calling! You don't want to go there. :madman:

UK sometimes averaged in the nineties when Adolph Rupp was there. When UK used to run fast breaks, when Pitino was there, announcers would often say things like, "well KY's been doing this since they've been a basketball team." Basketball in Kentucky did exist before Tubby Smith was there. I think people would have enjoyed basketball back then.

Actually some of the top scoring average teams in UK history were Rupp's in '70 and '71. The averaged in the 90's for the season.

Even Joe Hall had teams average 88 points or better in '75 and '78.

KY has always been at it's best it seems when running from the Fabulous Five (which I believe averaged about 77 points per game in '48, unheard of then) to the present.

Do any of the Maysville folks have a clue on why Feldhaus didnt participate in the show?

I just watched a rerun of the ESPN show "Beyond the Glory" on the '91-'92 UK team dubbed The Unforgetables. It literally brought tears to my eyes as I watched. It one of those moments in time that you remember exactly where you were at when it occurred. As I watched, I thought about the current state of the present day UK fan. Not the UK program but the UK fan. I remember back then that the fans were completely different than the fans now-a-days. After the Duke loss of that season, the UK team returned to an incredible welcome. People lined the streets in support of that team. They filled Rupp to capacity for the banquet that year......FOR THE BANQUET!!! I just wish that we as a whole fanbase of UK can get back to the days where we just supported UK basketball. We didn't point fingers, we didn't ask for firings, we didn't bash players and we just supported our team. We just filled Rupp to capacity and cheered and cheered somemore for our Cats. Let's quit being UK critics and start being UK fans again.

When did Kentucky basketball become known up tempo type style? Some of you all do realize that Rick Pitino did not create UK basketball, so just because he ran a fast pace style doesn't mean that it was "Kentucky Basketball" as you call it...

That would be a gentleman by the name of Rupp.

Amen fc...Amen :ylsuper:- I had said basically this same thing on various other threads before on here.

News Flash (for anyone that may not know):D: Rick Pitino did not invent the game of Basketball and he did not Build the U.K. Wildcat Basketball Tradition. What he did for us in his time here was great and will always be apprecated but...................he far from "the Father of U.K. Basketball". I think that he coached his teams in a building that carries a man's name that may have had something to do with it. Lets see now......who the heck is the "Rupp" guy and what did he do:eek:?? . IMO the U.K. Tradition is "Winning" and to me it really doesn't matter what style we win with as long as we win.

In some of the ones on here defense, a lot of them may not be old enough to remember U.K. basketball before Pitino.:thumb:

Pitino RETURNED to the style of Rupp. Winning is obviously first, but uptempo basketball is, all things being equal, more entertaining to watch and WAS equated with the dominance of Kentucky basketball under Coach Rupp. We returned to dominance under Pitino, and have sadly degenerated to the lowest level in the history of the program.

Name calling? What? Is that a joke? I never called anyone a name.

I was wondering the same thing when I watched the show. Feldhaus would have been great to see on the show.

I don't think that this present time is the lowest level in the UK history at all. We're having a tough year thus far yes but to label it the lowest time ever at UK is a bit exaggerated IMO. I remember after Sutton left and I'd have to say that that was the lowest time ever at UK. Man, it was bad. There was just a dark feeling among fans that the glory days were long gone. The fans responded though and were incredible, they rallied behind their team and helped turn things around. But if you do feel like this time is the lowest, it's even more reason to be a respectable reasonable fan.
