The program said that #34 was Sam Robey. There was a big solid kid wearing #34. Was that not Robey?

Sam Robey is NOT playing basketball. Apparently the program was wrong. And I did not see Rick Robey in the stands. Rumor had it last night he isn't playing because Florida doesn't want him to play basketball.

#23 is a very nice player. I was very impressed with him. He kept his composure while getting off to a slow start. It also seemed like Trinity could get on his back and he could carry them throughout the season.

It's good to see #23 Sewell playing better. Had been struggling in 7th region play and in the tourneys.

Yes it is surprising that a school so large has so few upperclassmen on their basketball team. What gives "T" fans? I realize that "T" is a Football school, but gee, the numbers on your Bball team are shocking.......

OK. No offense to the Kupper boy but he didn't seem to fit the SEC lineman profile.

I can tell you from my time at Trinity that basketball was not emphasized by many people there. In fact the student body seemed to care more about the intermural basketball league we had going than the team itself.

But what happens to all of the players who start the program and make it 1 or 2 years? The 2008 class was top 3 with Lex Cath and Scott Co (in fact they beat Scott Co with all their studs) their freshman year, now there are 3 seniors remaining. What happened to last yrs jv team? Only 2 or 3 players remain from that team.

 

Is it football? How come other schools have multi-sport players? There have been at least 15 kids who committed 2 yrs to the basketball program and then quit. Are they playing football and have aspirations to play in college so they don't play their Jr or Sr years? I can tell you this, it has nothing to do with the student body not emphasizing basketball. Do they emphasize soccer, baseball and volleyball b/c those programs have no issues. Any thoughts?

I graduated in 2001, the assessment I gave you was the one that I saw when I was there. I would assume it is similar. It could well be that those players who are no longer playing decided that intermurals would be better for them. Trinity does have multi-sport athletes. Brian Brohm and most of his classmates played multiple sports, but it really all comes down to what the individual players want.
