Best Hitters In NKY

Featured Replies

Guess I missed it. I know Elliott went 1 for 8 against us last year. Darner and Adams I don't recall any big hits against us, but I only saw them when they played us.
Cody had a solid summer. Ball State needs a CF and he fits the bill. He can hit for power and has the speed to run out almost anything.

I followed the Ky Colonels the whole season last summer and Adams and Darner rarely were in the lineup or at bat. The cleanup hitter for them changed but for the most part was either Blesser, Isler, or Krohman.

Well Adams was hitting a lot as a DH and AH when they used him and he was doing very well. He appeared alot during the 3/4 of the season and the last was when alot of scouts were watching and they didn't want to use the DH or AH as they were showcasing the other players.

DD, do you really expect these guys to get hits off of Ryle pitchers? Please.

That's why they had to schlep their way through summer league hitting off future D1 pitchers - just to get back on the good side of the ledger.

Fortunately, the Ball State coach didn't see Cody go against the Raiders or the kid may just be paying for all of his education in the future.

I know B Wood doesn't publish stats, that's why I watch Elliot when we play him and as I said, he went 1 for 8. Adams and Darner, didn't see them in the hitting leaders last year. But don't let the facts confuse you.

So 8 ABs and you've got him figured out? You should be a scout.

Do you place more in credence in those 8 ABs or how he did over an entire summer against top competition?

Darn DD a kid signs with a D1 school as a junior and you are only concerned with what he did against Ryle?

BTW, other that when the Ky Colonels played the Kings, how many times did you see Adams, Darner or even Elliott play this summer? Trust me, the Kings were no where near as good as some of the teams that the Colonels played this summer in Nashville, Memphis, Louisville, or even Cincinnati and all three young men did themselves proud all summer long.

DD, so how many current seniors from Ryle, have already signed with a D1 school like Elliott has?

Really? Kings beat the KY Colonels last summer while a few of their starters were still playing High School ball.

Why didn't you answer the question given you! You dish Elliott, but yet he has signed with a DI school, and when asked what current senior has signed from Ryle, you don't answer the question... Again I ask, what current senior from Ryle has signed with a DI school for Baseball? I am waiting!

Isler rarely, if ever, batted in the four hole. For the most part it was between Adams, Bleser, and Krohman.

I know for a fact Isler hit in the four hole for most of the second half of the season.

As many on this site will tell you, I watched and kept score (for myself not the team) at most of the Ky Colonels games home and away and as I looked at my score book, I can tell you that Isler (Ice) didn't really bat fourth much even late in the season. If you really want me to, I will count the times he batted fourth, but please trust me, he didn't bat fourth all that much even late in the season...If I were to guess after looking quickly at my old score book, I would say he batted in the five spot more times than not....espically late in the season....

I will give you that Isler hit fifth alot, as well as batting fourth at times. I do not remember Adams or Darner hitting at all on a regular basis.

Not "dishing" Elliot, just said his stats are unavailable, and when I saw him play h went 1 for 8. Not a "dish" just a fact. And I know nothing about Ball State except they are and Muncie IN, and according to a couple customers I have up there, not a big athletic school. Apparently, when they scouted Elliott, he did not go 1 for 8. As forr the Ryle kids, I know several have D1 interest, some in 2 sports.

Walt is still the coach of the KY Colonels, correct?

How familiar are you with the KY Colonels program? If you are familiar at all, then you'd know that Walt is much less concerned with Wins and losses during summer ball than he is getting his players exposure & opportunities to play on the next level. That is what summer ball is all about - earning an opportunity to continue your education and play the game on the next level.

Until the other programs around NKY realize this then they'll continue to be a step behind Walt's Colonels.

You're talking to the wrong guy, I could care less if the KY Colonels win or lose. The Old Guy has the KC fixation. I like the KY Kings programs and coaches.

First of all, big athletic school or not. It's a great opportunity and it is a good baseball program. Can't speak much for the other sports.

Secondly, you make me laugh a lot Dandy. And sometimes you make me laugh till I cry:laugh:. Who might these D1 baseball prospects be, and even better who are these two sport athletes you speak of?
