WOW...Seen all kinds of vidio on this kid via u-tube, and other sites from high school the last couple of years. It seemed like there for awhile that he may never play college football. Looks, and sounds like, he may have grown up a little bit, and his play tonight had to trun some heads. Even heard the announcers say some were comparing him to Barry Sanders.

Is this the kid from Ft. Myers, FL that somebody was touting on BGP a year or two ago? Had ungodly stats in HS. I recall the Deion Sanders connection, and remember he looked unstoppable on those videos. He looked unbelievable again tonight??

Yes

This kids lost both of his parents before he was 13 i think to AIDS. Saw a friend killed. Has two or three kids himself. If there is someone to ruit for in sports, this would be the kid i put my money on. He is a great story and a great player. His name will be in the heisman within his college career. He is an outstanding kid they said on the game tonight aginst OU. He averages about 9 yards a carry this season. Let slaton go to the NFL, i would be more worried about this kid for the next couple years if i was a coach. You cant not root for him. Such a good story. I hope he makes millions.

The worst thing that could've happened to Oklahoma is Steve Slaton getting injured.

Devine has some serious wheels and is quicker than a hiccup. He is an exciting player to watch and will give WVU fans a lot to look forward to in 08.

I was watching the game wondering if WVU would have won had Slayton stayed healthy. Devine cuts on a dime like not many I've seen and he has a burst of speed that is sick! He has had a lot on his plate like the other poster said on here. I had no idea both parents died of AIDS until last night. I remember us salavating over his game on BGP a few years back.

After he scored one of his touchdowns last night, when he came to the sidelines all the players were coming up to him along with the governor of WV, and he told the governor to hold on for a second so he could go over to the bench and hi-five and hug his offensive lineman. He definitely seems like a team player. He knows his role, and when Slaton goes down, he's always ready to fill in. The only question about him is will his small frame be able to take the pounding of 20+ carries a game, especially with no Schmidt leading the way?

Devine is a big time athlete. Great Speed.

He needs to bulk up a little, which I'm sure he will over the next few years. Remember that little RB out of Oklahoma St. who won the Heisman in 1988, alot of people thought he was to small to play on Sundays.

I thought the same thing, Slayton seemed to not have big games in important ones. JMO

I'm sure he will add some weight, but it'll take 40 pounds to match that of Sanders playing weight.

slayton will not be a pro. He gets all his yards against weak opponents because he is not a big game player. Devine is a stud!!!

Devine is 5'8 170...I don't believe BS was 210 when he arrived at OSU.
