Yes. Have you seen Minnis of Shelby County. He went nuts on Eastern High. He also set it off the other night with 28 or 30. Penny is a 6-4 power forward that must score in close. Minnis can get it done in a variety of ways.

Do you know me well enough to figure me out on just my post? I am not saying Minnis isn't good just not the best in my opinion.

I know SC has players that can at least slow Penny down...i dont think Anderson will have anybody that can do the same to Minnis.

Shelby County will win the 8th Region but it won't be easy.

Penney isn't tough to defend in terms of winning against Anderson. He takes the majority of the shots for Anderson and will get his average of points. Around 95% of his points come from around the bucket or getting a pass on the break. He is a decent athlete and rebounder.

 

Minnis can score in a multitude of ways, from the arc, drive, and out on the break. Quickness is a huge asset. Shelby has more scorers and Minnis still gets his points. Shelby is undefeated. Anderson just dropped two game in the KOB. Minnis does not get the press, but is a gamer more than Penney at this point. And that's not taking anything away from Penney either.

I agree with what you are saying 100% If you let Penny get his points, you can stop the other players. Shelby will have to much for other teams, but I still can't count out Oldham. It will depend on the draw this year. If Shelby and Anderson get match'd up early, I would bet Oldham will win, but If Shelby gets on the other side of the bracket, they will win. I agree and disagree. Oldham may not be a lock to even get out of their district this year. Brackets have something to do with it, but Shelby County right now has the tools and finally a group that is unselfish and ready to play.

Can someone give a refresher breakdown of the eighth region districts. It appears Shelby, Oldham, Anderson, Simon Kenton, and Gallatin are the clear favorites, but at least two of them must be in the same district. Thanks for the help.:thumb:

I don't really think SK was expected to win by everyone. They definitely were not the "hands down" favorite IMO.

SK had star power from their PG. Shelby has no one getting hype. But from a record standpoint, SC is 10-0 with a couple of nice wins and they are fast become that "clear" frontrunner.

I could care less about "star power" or "hype", it's not what I base my posts on.

 

I'm sure Shelby is pretty good, but they won't be the clear favorite they were in 06, nor the clear favorite SK was last year, IMO. Region's too balanced this year. BTW, can you help me out with that district breakdown? :ylsuper:

Penny does not have to score in close. But why would you shoot from outside if you can beat every single person who cards you off the dribble and just about dunk it on the big boys down low? I also know that Penny can shoot from outside. Last year i saw him hit two buzzer beaters, one of them to win a game.
