After a few undecided months, I'm now giving Obama my support through the primaries and hopefully beyond.

Obama for me followed by Edwards then Clinton or Richardson. I think Richardson my be a VP candidate if Edwards or Clinton get the nomination. Just a feeling I have. My only reason for not posting Clinton first is that if she were to be president we'd have Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton from 1989 to possibly 2013 and beyond.

I am all over the board. I can't decide. A year ago, I told BGP I could swallow hard and vote for Giuliani. Now, his alleged buisness dealings have scared me off. Then, I was the BGPer calling for Thompson to get in. Now he appears as about exciting as dryer lint (though his policies still have appeal). A year ago, I told BGP that I would rather slice myself with a razor than vote for McCain. Now, I'm taking another look. 6 months ago, I told BGP that Huckabee was appealing on social issues but could never win. Now he can, but his tax record scares the heck out of me. Mitt Romney is the most 'true' conservative of the bunch, but I wish he would just answer the doggone question. I'm leaning Romney at this point, but some young kids came around to the office yesterday all fresh-faced and perky and trying to get me to pull for Ron Paul. Where in the heck did he find all these supporters?

 

For the first time in my history, I will probably be 'Undecided' right up to the day of the primary.

From the web primarily. Ron Paul has a large grass roots constituency of mostly young people. He's more Libertarian than conservative Republican. He calls himself a strict "constitutionalist" and claims to base all of his voting in the House from a constitutional basis. More often than not, he's at odds with the both parties and I think that is his appeal to young people. I don't agree with everything he espouses, but you have to like that he stands by his principles and does not pander to anybody. I've found no evidence of it to this point.

 

If I had to vote tomorrow, it would be Ron Paul. However, there are certain issues that I align more closely to McCain than anybody else. Right now, you can call me undecided.

I throwing my support to Barack Obama, but if he loses I'm supporting what ever democrat wins the nomination for the White House.

No surprises here...I'm an Independent...can't vote for either Democrat or Republican. However, I pretended I could vote any way I liked, and selected John Edwards!

I can not stand religious/socially consevative politics or government. I am HEAVILY pro choice. I am HEAVILY pro-rights for homosexuals. I am HEAVILY for stricter gun control. And above all, I am against "God" being associated with politics.

 

When the Republicans get away from the Moral Majority and go back to their roots of limited government than I will give them a lot more support.

Oh, I don't know...perhaps, the fact that there is no logical reason to believe that the Christian "God" exists or even if he does that the HUMANS that wrote the Bible had anything right in it...or furthermore that the writings of those HUMANS that wrote the book that was based on the God that may or may not exist were of any logical basis for government and social policy.

 

As for gun control - I am not supporting an anti-2nd ammendment agenda by any means. What I do support, as gun control goes, involves three parts.

 

1) Extensive Background Checks. There are way too many acts of pure violence that happen when people that should not be allowed to own a gun is given one. If a person is convicted of a gun crime that should be it. No, attending a safty course and then heading off to a pawn shop and picking up a Rifel.

 

2) No one with a mental handicap should be allowed to own a gun. A sensative topic as every human has the right to be able to defend themselves but when you weigh the pros and cons - it is just not safe to allow someone mentally handicap to handle a weapon with so much killing ability as a gun.

 

3) No personal possession of deadly assault weapons There is no logical reasoning why someone should be able to have an AK-47 or other automatic weapons. The military is one thing. A high school kid who likes to go out in his back yard to fire an AK-47 is an entirelly different subject.

 

Guns for protection and hunting weapons are ok by me, as long as the person who purchases them are cleared by a heavy background check.

Actually to 3 the only way anyone can legally own a fully automatic weapon now is with a class 3 lisence and that goes through the Federal government. They arer expensive and not easy to attain.

 

There are many AK-47's and AR-15's that are not fully automatic that are owned by many individuals, the parts required to modify them also require the aforementioned lisence.

As to 1 background checks are required for handguns, which is what 99% of all gun crimes are comitted with anyway. You are not going to find many peope using an M1 Garand, FN Fal or AR-15 to commit most crimes. They are simply to bulky and hard to conceal for those purposes.

On the logic of a Christian God, your stance on how we got here is what?

 

It makes more LOGICAL SENSE that there just happened to be a puddle of chemicals with the EXACT NEEDED combination with the EXACT NEEDED quantities at the EXACT MOMENT that the EXACT electrical charge just HAPPENED to hit the EXACT spot of the puddle, to produce life.

 

THAT is more logical than a Christian God that create life.

 

That theory is MUCH MORE farfetched than a Christian God.

 

Not to mention how did the puddle of chemicals even get there?
