How do you feel if the DNA evidence proves guilt beyond the shadow of a doubt?

With the advances in video imaging, this one scares me the most. For video, seeing is believing is no longer true. Video is too easily doctored. Although there are still ways to differentiate between raw and doctored video, an overzealous prosecutor or detective could doctor video and stills to fit the crime.

If there is ZERO doubt that the accused is guilty of a heinous crime such as murder, I'm all for the DP. Otherwise, I'm for the life without parole penalty.

Shouldnt we stay on the side of caution, and just get rid of the DP. Therefore we dont have to worry about making mistakes that cannot be reversed.

Honestly, I wasn't comfortable with the choices, but if I started putting different stances on the death penalty, I definitely would have left one out.

Oh I agree, I've had a lot of very in depth discussions regarding this with some judges. There is no way to accurately describe someone's views on this in one sentence, and if someone is just all for the death penalty, or dead set against it, under any circumstances, I am leery.

 

It would take 100 choices to even remotely get close to getting everyone's opinions on it.

 

I'm not criticizing, but my choice isn't up there, that's all.

It was no secret they weren't going to actually use the death penalty there anyway.

 

Banning it was a political statement for their government. That's all.
