I remember watching them at the Trice Hughes Bowl & getting beat bad by Glasgow & then they lost a couple of key players.

Yup, I was very disapointed in them, however they did get A LOT better by the end of the year and a completely different team. They were just very young this year and losing several key players hurt but they pulled together, I look for them to make a lot of noise next year and could possibly dethrone Mayfield for the first time in school history

Doesn't Lone Oak open with Crittenden County next year at the Trice Hughes Bowl ?

1. Most pleasant surprise in WKY this year - Lone Oak without a doubt. I don't think there was anyone who pegged them to be 14-0 and playing on the final Saturday of the year.

2. Biggest disappointment in WKY this year - I was a little surprised at Owensboro Catholic's record, but I would have to give the nod here to Hopkinsville. I know they played a tough schedule but there were a lot of people who thought they had the pieces in the right places to replace what they lost last year.

3. Best overall coaching job this year - I'd give it to Shawn Berner of Fort Campbell and Jack Haskins of Lone Oak for different reasons.

4. Best game between two WKY teams this year - Either Lone Oak beating Calloway County in OT in the regular season or Fulton City beating Mayfield in the regular season

5. Best offense in WKY this year - Lone Oak. Next.

6. Best defense in WKY this year - Have to give the nod to Fort Campbell after the first two games. Held Trigg to a TD. Held OCath to a TD twice. Shut down Metcalfe County in the playoffs. They edge out Owensboro slightly.

7. Best special teams in WKY this year - Mayfield or Fort Campbell

8. Best player in WKY this year - Corey Robinson

9. Best team in WKY this year - Fort Campbell

10. The one thing that made you say, "Hmm..." confused.gif - 91 touchdown passes by Robinson??

1. Most pleasant surprise in WKY this year ... Lone Oak, without a doubt

2. Biggest disappointment in WKY this year ... Trigg County

3. Best overall coaching job this year ... Jack Haskins, Lone Oak

4. Best game between two WKY teams this year ... Lone Oak-Warren East

5. Best offense in WKY this year ... Bowling Green

6. Best defense in WKY this year ... Owensboro or Fort Campbell

7. Best special teams in WKY this year ... Mayfield, thanks to Tommy McNutt

8. Best player in WKY this year ... Corey Robinson

9. Best team in WKY this year ... Bowling Green

10. The one thing that made you say, "Hmm..." ... Paducah Tilghman's embarrassingly low crowds at playoff time ... will a coaching change restore some excitement to the locals?

Who do you think will be the next head coach at Tilghman?

I'm sure they would try to lure Jack away from Lone Oak but I think he will remain with us.

1. Most pleasant surprise in WKY this year...Ft. Campbell winning the state title.

2. Biggest disappointment in WKY this year..Franklin-Simpson

3. Best overall coaching job this year...Shawn Berner-Ft. Campbell

4. Best game between two WKY teams this year...Lone Oak vs Warren East

5. Best offense in WKY this year...Bowling Green

I wouldn't have been disappointed in them this year, they really turned it all around by the end of the season and played Mayfield one of the best games I have ever seen between Mayfield and Crittenden.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Jack back at Tilghman with the way 3A lines up for the next couple of years, Tilghman came up really short of a state title this year, only lost by 3 to the state champions, should be interesting!!

True, just expectations were a lot higher, but they did improve quite a bit
