Cooper High School Question?

Featured Replies

With the new school opening up in Boone County and they are starting football are there any coaches that have contacted the county or the school about coaching the new team?

From what I understand is that they will start looking for coachs and accepting resumes in Jan.

Another question: what type of facilities will they have? Turf Field? State of the art weightroom? Any pics on how it's going over there?

They better not get turf without the schools in Boone getting it .This was an issue a few years back when S Alexander wanted to put turf in at Boone ,his alma mater .He was told only if he puts in at all high schools in the county .

Now ,on to the coaches .I have heard that an assistant at Ryle was taking the Cooper job a few weeks back .

More recent I was told now Thompson ,current Boone coach ,was going to Cooper .He actually lives in that district .Warner ,current Ryle coach and Boone alum ,was going to Boone .The asst. who was going to take the Cooper Job will now be the head coach at Ryle .

I have no verification yet .Take it for it may be .Will update if I get it .

There is no news on the coaching front. The school just now started accepted applications. So anyone who says "I'm going there, or he's going there" is nothing but guesswork.

Has it been determined yet what football classification they will compete in and will it affect the classification of the other schools in Boone County?

I think it was said that they are all playing in 6A next year and then we'll see how the realignment falls in 2009.

My rumors may not be very good ,but ...

I heard 6A .That is why Boone had to drop Owensboro for next year .I find it hard to believe you can have 4 six A schools that close together .

There are 4 in Lexington, plus a 5A that isn't too far behind the others.

What's hard to believe about it? NKY is one of the three largest population centers in the state.

I can tell you this. Boone is losing about 75 students. That leaves them in 6a. Ryle is losing about 175-200 students. That leaves them in 6a. Conner is losing in the neighborhood of 500 students, and that leaves them in 6a. Cooper would have about 850-900 depending on growth, and what some srs. from the aforementioned schools do.

I second the motion.
