The word on W. Lee St. is that he is indeed transferring to Eastern because he did not like Just's coaching style and preferred a more up and down game. Apparently his intentions are to concentrate on basketball only. On a side note, there is talk that Tony Kimbro Jr. is also transferring. No one has said where.

 

Just has alway played an up tempo style. While at Iroquois they full ct pressed and played man to man. I doubt it has to do with his style of play.

Wow Ram, that is a pretty bold statement. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that someone that has enrolled in the almighty Manual has decided that that wasn't the best fit. As a matter of fact the name Jordan Whiting should ring a bell to Ram football fans. Don't know why your putting down Eastern, but IMO there are plenty of kids and parents thrilled to be associated with that school or any other public school.

 

You're right, I apologize, I wasn't actually trying to put down Eastern, I would've ended up going there myself if I didn't go to Manual, I was just saying I haven't a clue WHY somebody would be transferring from Manual. It strikes me as kind of odd is all, but if it's what the kid wants then more power to him.

Someone from Louisville help me out. I think you all have "open enrollment", or whatever it is called there, where any student who resides in Louisville can attend any school in Louisville they choose. Is that correct? Also, if this is correct, are the transfer rules the same for Jefferson County as they are in the rest of the state?

KHSAA has regulations, that have to be adhered to, if a student-athlete is involved.

I am very close to the Cosby family and know this situation quite well. Grades have never been an issue with Aaron Cosby and never will be. He is an excellent student and always has been. It is a shame that people assume that grades are always the issue if a kid leaves Manual. I know for a fact Cosby will leave with a very strong GPA. His family has there reasons and it is really not an athletic or academic issue.

He (his father) has said a transfer is likely, but not due to anything off the court. It was more a disagreement of how the coach envisions him in the offense...as a cog in the wheel and not the one and only option.

They don't have to sit out. Only if Dennis chooses to fight it. So far with every one he has fought and gone to mediation (my father in law does the mediations for the KHSAA hearings), I have agreed with Dennis in disputing them.

I never said it was grades....I just said that if he transferred now and wanted to play right away, he'll either have to be released by the AD, or claim that the rigors of Manual were too much.

BTW, we keep talking about court...let's move this to the high school bball forum.
