What are your thoughts on the game?

I hear that Whitley is playing pretty good right now and the 'Burg is in a bit of a slump, but you never know about those cross town games. It seems as though they bring out something extra in kids.

I hate to say this but Whitley wins by 30 or more. Say what you want about emotion and cross town rivalries, but this Williamsburg team is just not very good. They seem to struggle with floor chemistry, other than the kids who play football, they are physically weak, they cannot create their own shots and there is little if any offensive scheme that is used to create shots. It seems offensively they stand around in spots and hope to get an open look. Defensively, Jellico constantly beat them down the floor and had at least 15 back door openings. I haven't seen Whitley play, but from what I have heard they are playing well right now. I know you can't compare scores but if Whitley's game against Jellico is any indication, I'm afarid my Jackets are in big trouble. It won't help that this game is at Whitley either.

I am sure Coach Baker will have something cooked up for the Orange and White. Lawson gym will be heated up tomorrow night as the Jackets travel past 3 point to take on the Colonels. It does not look like a competitive game on paper, but sometimes upsets do happen. I can not recall the last time this one was over a 30 point spread? Colonels playing at home, playing hard and playing well.....Whitley 85 Wburg 60.

Looks like a easy win for Whitley...Maybe this Jacket team will wake up and play hard...Whitley wins by 20...

Whitley is playing much better than Williamsburg right now. If Williamsburg plays hard they can make a good game of it. If they don't Ben Prewitt may have double figures.

IMO this will in no shape or form be a (get better game) for the Jackets, that should have happened at Jellico or Burgin, my guess both. Whitley by many and then some.

Williamsburg has too much talant to be as bad as everyone is putting on. I think it will be a good game and Williamsburg will "Come to Play" as Stan Lovitt would say.

 

Defensively Whitley is playing well and VERY hard. Offensively they are very workman like and takes what is given them.

 

Being a district game, I think the Jackets make a game of it but at Whitley the Colonels will have the advantage. This is always a good game and I look forward to another installment in this series.

As you can see this has been a very close series going back to the late 90's. I don't look for this year to be any different, being a cross town rival game makes it even better. Regardless of being at Whitley or Williamsburg I look for a great game.

Looks pretty lopsided after 2002 or so. Colonels have had their way with the Jackets since then. Hope it is a good game, but if the Colonels do not win convincingly I will be surprised.

What is the overall series record?

Records from the past have no effect on tonights game. Williamsburg has had some pretty good teams in the past, but those players won't be there tonight to help the Jackets. Seems as though the Jackets have been struggling here lately and the Colonels are playing well. At least the Jackets will have "their record" to take with them after tonight.
