June 16, 200818 yr :thumb: You beat me to it on ths comment, his pitches (especially fast ball) are straight as an arrow and with no movement, he "hangs" the curve. Right now Homer is a bp or home run derby pitcher. Baily has the speed and arm, imo he needs to learn how to "pitch" and not just throw. Being able to throw the ball over the plate and move the ball around in the stike zone is a must, you can't get by in the "show" w/o it. I personally believe that his (Homer's) attitude is a BIG problem. I really had high hopes for him coming up through the minors and when he first got called up, now not so much. Maybe Baily should just retire right now and go into the HOF while he still knows everything......(j/k but this kid does need an attitude adjustment.) I think this stint has humbled him and he's completely open to instruction. I can't imagine him NOW thinking he's got it figured out.

June 16, 200818 yr For this team to be a contender all he has to do with his mountain of talent is be a third starter. He needs to accept coaching, we need him to badly. Edinson, Jonny? and Harang(although the record doens't show) can't keep us in every game.
June 17, 200818 yr He's underachieved and has not proven to be the "ace" that most people thought he would be.
June 17, 200818 yr He has only pitched in 12 games. His whole problem is his K to walk ratio is 1:1. No pitcher can win with that. Work it out in Looey and come back in a year.
June 17, 200818 yr He has a decent change up, but he needs to develop that sinker/slider/curve/cutter to strike people out. You HAVE to have a very very good 2nd and 3rd pitcher to be a successful player. Not only do you need the pitches, but you have to locate. If he doesn't learn to throw his off speed stuff for strikes, his career will be short lived.
