Mason County 60 George Rogers Clark 27 (Freshman)

Featured Replies

Freshman basketball is a joke. Most teams freshman are starting JV and playing many minutes on varsity if they are good. In Mason's case, the varsity and JV are loaded and while the freshman are very, very good, they won't have much competition.

Yeah because the time a kid is a freshman it is obvious whether or not he can develop into a play or just needs to go home.

Do schools even charge admission to these games?

I don't think so..but I may be wrong.

I've said this before, but the big 3 at Mason, will have a legit shot at the state title in two years if they have a couple more step up, 8th grade team last year was solid but had no bench. As far as the freshman team, if the JV and Varisty is not playing and the Freshman in question is not starting Varisty I dont see it as wrong that they play Freshman....only problem is that is a load on a kid, they could be playing 8 games a week between F, JV, and V!

The King's at Deming last year played 8th, Freshman, JV and Varsity.

How is that a joke? Should schools that are good up and down the line require freshmen to sit a year out until they are ready to play Varsity?

It is a joke that you can be so ignorant as to say something like that, especially with so many coaches at the Freshmen level developing talent for the future of the Varsity teams and getting zero credit or public praise.

From the schools that I know, yes.

They will have to win the region first. Not sure what the other teams in the region have but GRC Freshman class is loaded. We don't have the big 3 we have the big 5...

The 10th regional tourney should be very competitive in years to come. Mason versus Clark is always going to be a tremendous battle with both schools having loads of talent and class programs.

GRC Freshman class was awful in the Bluegrass Conference 8th Grade Middle School last year, I know they were missing Stenzel....but he couldnt have revived that team, Mason's freshman group has been beating Clark's like a redhead step child since they were 8! Just my opinion!!

Does the Rogers kid that transfered from Fleming to GRC play freshman or is he one that was moved up?

Clark Co has 2 Jr high schools, you only played one. Stenzel, Martin and Rogers didn't play on Clark's 8th grade teams at all last year.
