I really don't care one way or another, but my question would be, if the two perps were apprehended by the police would they be facing a death sentence in court? Or does this guy in fact take the place of police? I have to figure if they would come towards an officer after a warning shot had been, they would expect to be shot. Very interesting scenario.

The way that I see it: he was safe in his house, but he has a right to go outside of his house anytime he wants to, and he has a right to go out side anytime he wants to with a gun in his hand. Once out side, if he sees a crime being committed he has a right to intervene, and once he intervenes, if he feels threatened he has a right to use deadly force.

 

He does not have to stay inside to maintain safety. I think what he did was right, and I wish I had a neighbor like him. I would wager a bet that the possibility of crime in his neighborhood just went down a great deal.

 

I hope the grand jury gives him a plaque and says good job.

As hard as I have worked for my stuff, and, seeing what PH goes through every day for what he gets, I say good for the neighbor. Not everyone has the money to go and replace items that have been taken. The police should have been notified when he called 911. He honestly tried to do the right thing, and the right thing did not work. Do I agree with what he did....I really don't know. I would not do it myself, I know PH would not do it either....unless our lives were in danger or they were in our home and were a threat....however, I can not pass judgement on this one...I will say that he really did try to get the police over to the house and they did not show up in time...he did warn the 911 operator, and, if I am not mistaken, he did warn the thieves not to move..."move, your dead" I think the quote was.

Getting a bit crazy.

 

What we don't need is people going around with guns shoothing than asking questions later. Yes these 2 guys where braking the law, but it wasn't worth killing them. What this could lead up to is somebody locking themselfs out of their own home and get shot trying to get back into their own home by a scared neighbor.

I support what Joe Horn did. The police obviously weren't too worried about it and he did warn the burglars to not move, which when the charged turned it into self-defense.

 

My question to the X (never did understand what his name actually was) man would be that if he isn't trying to make into a race issue then why raise the fist?

I am with RTS. I think If Joe Horn gets a medal, the homeowners around him can leave their doors unlocked for quite some time!!!!

He may very well have acted with the law in Texas, so I don't agree with you at all.
