colonel-fan Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 What a game! Sounded like the Coloneldome was rocking! CovCath was down 23 - 5 and battled back against the #3 Knights. CovCath is learning to match the intensity the down state teams play with. Maile finishes with 22 points for the Colonels.
colonelb Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Maile with 22, and sounded like a whole lot of rebounds too.
HOMELESS CAMEL Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Wow. Congrats to CovCath on a big, big win. I can't wait to see the Royals play them next Friday at the Fieldhouse.
ColumbusBlue81 Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 "Lex Cath is too much. Cov Cath will be fine in Northern Kentucky this year, but thats about it." Some people say the funniest things. Nice job Colonels! Not bad for a team who will do fine in NKY and that's about it. Man, I love that quote from the previous thread.
gold sunrise Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 It was actually 60-57. Fixed it for you. I would have loved to seen Cov Caths cheering section tonight . I bet it was rocking.
colonelb Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Fixed it for you. I would have loved to seen Cov Caths cheering section tonight . I bet it was rocking. The gym certainly sounded very very loud on the internet broadcast. The announcers made a comment about barely being able to hear themselves.

The announcers made a comment about barely being able to hear themselves. They have the best cheering section I have ever seen...I watch them more than I do the game sometimes....
cshs81 Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Fixed it for you. I would have loved to seen Cov Caths cheering section tonight . I bet it was rocking. Other than when they were singing the Backstreet Boys songs, they were rocking.
cshs81 Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 This was more a game of survival than actual execution. Neither team's offense played very well. I'd hate to see how many TOs CCH had. LC's length and zone press was very effective early. Every shot by CCH was contested. When your 6'7 guy starts the game shooting a jump shot and its blocked, that's a long team. Sanford is extremely good - best player on the court by far. Fortunately for CCH, he fouled out. He's a 2 guard at the D1 level with a nice stroke. Didn't see much out of any of the other LC players. 22 had a very rough shooting night. Novasel battles hard . Hustle play of the night: CCH up one with 20 to 30 seconds left. Noll shooting 2. Misses both. He sees the second one is going to be short, dives at the ball as LC was getting ready to grab it and knocked it to another CCH player. CCH drops 2 FTs. Game.
Theoldguy Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Stats for the CovCath vs. LexCath game.... And notice that LexCath had more TO's than CovCath!
OYPreps Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Cov Catholic is gritty and very well coached. They will do some damage this year and should be one of the teams still playing when the Sweet 16 starts.
Theoldguy Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Will agree the hustle play by A Noll on that play was something, but CovCath needs to start making a higher percentage of their free throws.... Grimes was only 3-8 from the line and Noll missed those two. Luke Maile had a rough first half but came on strong in the second half..... #11 Samford for LexCath was indeed the best player on the floor tonight and had 21 points until he fouled out....
cshs81 Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 While the boxscore will show only 3 points for JD Schmerge, he deserves some kudos for his efforts inside. He was very active in challenging shots and the results showed. This is a kid that as a SOPH never left the 3 point line. He's gotten stronger , more confident, and much more aggressive.
sidelinecoach Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Cov Catholic is gritty and very well coached. They will do some damage this year and should be one of the teams still playing when the Sweet 16 starts. These are two constant staples of the Cov Cath program, a very difficult opponent each and every year
