I was a little surprised but both WL Stats who does the Bryan Station computer stats and the Mason County stats crew both had him with 5 offensive rebounds and 12 defensive rebounds for a total of 17.

Wow..I didnt think he had that many, but I guess he did.

Great job tonight royals, sounded like a good game, glad to here our big 3 all got off to good starts. Also havent seen the mack kid play, but sounds like there were 2 legitimate Mr. Basketball candidates playing tonight.

I predicted them to win by 13--don't thinlk I don't know basketball!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very entertaining game. Close until about 2 or 3 minutes into the 4th quarter; after that the Mason County lead was between 8 and 14 the rest of the way.

 

Station is not real big, but very quick and athletic. Mack is a player; but he had to work real hard to get his 29 points. Very impressed with his game. Station was out to an 8 point lead twice in the second quarter; then Mason started doing a much better job getting back on defense. Station gives you absolutely no time to admire a made basket! Much of their offense was 1-on-1; I heard that they only had 5 assists for the game.

 

Very physical game; hand checks and bumps could have been called on nearly every trip down the floor; but the referrees let them play for the most part.

 

Positives for Mason County - Darius' improved shooting from all over the floor; solid game from Middleton who had to do an awful lot of ball handling. Setty got a little frustrated with the physical play; but was part of the play of the game - a perfect feed to Darius for a slam that extended the lead to 10 or 12 midway through the 4th quarter; and he still had 18 points. I also liked what I saw from starters King and Downing. The announcer (and boy was he easy to hear - not like the PA system over in Georgetown) had King for 9 points but I saw earlier on the thread where it was 7. Tolle, Thompson and Barner did a nice job spelling the starters. I was VERY impressed with Hamm's ability to handle the ball under lots of pressure. That will come in handy against quick teams down the road.

 

Very nice win for the Royals against a quality team with a stud player. Back to Lexington tomorrow night!

Nice crowd at the game tonight. As usual, Mason travels real well, especially against great competition. Much different than mcpapa's last trip to Legington (Lafayette).

 

Was kind of funny having lots of the Tates Creek crowd chanting MAson COUNty along with the Royals fans before the game.:ylsuper:

Great road win tonight for the Royals to go to Lexington and beat the number 4 ranked team by double digits.BS is a very good team and will compete for that tough 11th region crown.Mack is a stud and Station is the quickest team Ive saw in a while.Back to Lexington tomm nite for the Royals as they take on Tates Creek in the late game 8:30.:banana:
