Elliott County @ Morgan County

Don't ALL coaches believe their team can win and tell their players and fans they can ! They wouldn't be a good coach is they didn't. Why play the game if you do not have a chance just forfit. !! Coach Perry said some things on a radio show , his got to pump up his players. Look forward to a good game. Go Lions sorry

Unreal.

How can a coach say these purported comments on a "radio show" like it was assumed yesterday, when in fact the show had not even taken place yet. His first show was last night and there was no ill will toward to LIONS.

There was nothing in the newspaper. Came out last night and was a nice article with picture of Ethan Faulkner in the Licking Valley Courier.

I agree with earlier post that coaches are supposed to make their team feel like they can win. I am sure after getting beat badly last season and Elliott Co. returning all of their players, some of the players deep down don't like their chances against them. I don't know any coach that says out loud that his/her team has no chance. I think some Elliott County people may be afraid that they may come out flat and want to provide some pregame hype to keep that from happening. I have no problem with what either side is doing or is not doing, play ball!!!!

Sounds like someone had some false info floating around.:thumb:

I think it will be closer than a lot of people think just simply form the "D" Morgan will play. Plus they do seem to have more quickness & ball handling than last year & they may match up better to Elliott this year. These particular players seem to have improved offensively & also seem to be playing harder than last year. They definitely will not be intimidated by EC. It will be a battle.

I want to let it be known that I hope the best for Elliott County except when they are playing against the Cougars. They are in the 62nd district and I for one would be supportive of this district before any of the others. Elliott County has a special group of athletes at the present but this may not allows be the case. Remember all the teams you disgrace and destroy on your way up the list are the same teams you will meet on your way down.

Well said !:thumb:

But also those same teams are the ones that beat them before they got where they are, so it works both ways.

If I read right, all that was initially said, was RA09 "heard" the statement from someone else, he didn't say it was for sure true.

I will say get there early , Girls and Boys both play and retiring a jersey. OH MY somebody save me and hubby a seat. :D:D

Let's use this thread for predictions and put the rumors comment to rest, as Nets has addressed it very well.

Elliott Co. 76-50.

I know Coach Perry personally, as we have been friends for some time, and he said none of the above but why should I defend him. He is trying to prepare the Cougars to have a better season than last year. He believes his team is better offensively this year than last. At least this season, they have players who are giving their all instead of just going through the motions. Could that be why he feels more confident than last season. If anyone understands the talent at Elliott County it would be Coach Perry. His teams' were handled easily by the Lions last season and they return everyone. Elliott County is by far the most talented team in the region but they are not invincible. As for what Coach Perry supposedly said he was quoted as saying that this would be a game in which the Cougars would have to play almost perfect to win. I take it as though he respects the Lions and is preparing his team with these intentions. As for Elliott County being a first half team and the Cougars having their number, that information is totally false. The rumors are flying early in the season and the season is yet to start for most teams. Good luck to both teams as I mentioned in an earlier post and may the best team win.

If he didnt say it, I apologize to him and all involved.

I have to imagine that Elliott County knows that as well as any other team in the Region!
