Like I said before, I am pulling hard for GCHS in this one but I really look for Harrison to win pretty handily.

The GCHS kids have bought into the new system they are running, they have played their butts off and worked to get better. They (GCHS) players and coaches deserve the utmost respect for that fact. So, from here in "Ramblerville" ........GO GCHS!!

 

Remember, you don't need to have been the best team all season - you just have to be the best team for about 2.5-3hrs. on Friday night.

I look for the Breds to go out there and take care of business against a good Greenup Co. GO BREDS!!!

Its regular grass. It has a crown in the middle which is mostly dirt but outside of the hashes is nice grass.

Greenup County is playing much better,if they had gotten it together early in the season they would have a far more impressive record.I believe they may be out of their league this week,but I don't think they'll lay down for anyone.If Harrison wants the win,they better be ready to work for it.

Reload and refocus: Breds now look to 'elite eight' playoff game

It has been said that revenge is a dish best served cold. The Harrison County Thorobreds (9-3) expressed their agreement with that statement last week on a very cold football Friday night at Benny Watkins Field in Frankfort. The Breds defeated the Franklin County Flyers (9-3) in the second round of the Class 4A Prep Bowl by a 30-6 score, earning the team the District 5 post-season championship.

The Thorobreds have won the last four meetings against Greenup County, the most recent being a 36-15 win in 1994.

 

Greenup County has not beaten Harrison County since 1977, the year the Musketeers were crowned Class 4A state champions.

 

Sammons hopes his team can repeat that performance, but he knows that it will be a tough task.

 

“Harrison is big, strong and fast,” Sammons said. “They’ve got big kids, big offensive lineman, fast receivers and big backs. They have the total package.”
