Congrats to Russell on the hard fought win and good luck next week.This is going to be a real test for Ivan McGlone and his Red Devils.Breathitt Co. is the second best team I've seen this year,right behind Belfry.

I understand that it was an inadvertant whistle. That makes the ball dead. With the ball going ten yards and being called dead by an inadvertant whistle I would think the ball would go to the receiving team.

 

On the do over,one offical threw a flag on it as if it went out of bounds and was ignored.Great game by #38 D B.Knew he could be a difference maker with the oppurtunities.Thought it was a very poorly officiated game from start to end.....DEVILS LOOKING BETTER EVERY WEEK !!!

Was wondering if anyone else counted the way i did,did mason co. not get four time outs in the first half? Everyone around me counted the same thing....

yes we counted it that way also, the coaches also knew ,but could not get anyone to give any response...

Was it a yellow flag or a white bean bag? Officials throw bean bag on first touching or muffs, in this case a muff. You cannot advance a muff. It sounds and some have mentioned it was IW and in this case, a re-kick.

 

This is a terrible thing for an official, we all have them but they do come early in your career. I had one, maybe 2, early in my career a couple of decades ago. Those things could really turn a game around.

I bet that official who blew the IW was thanking GOD.... It's like when you question not punching the guy out at first for the 3rd out and the next guy puts one in the parking lot!!!!!!!!!!!! terrible feeling....

I didn't realize they actually threw a flag on that kick, but it makes since now because Mason had 2 players definitely offsides. And they both were on the opposite side of the field that they kicked the ball to.

I really dont think on the first kick they done a redo because of a inadvertent whistle,it seemed to me that they just did not know who to give the ball to,so they just rekicked.Would love to hear the explanation from the official on the reason for the rekick.

No they did not get four time outs. The time out that was taken when Mason had a devensive player coming back in was actually taken by Russell. The official accidentally pointed the wrong way. Russell took that time out because they were close to getting a delay of game.

opposite side, home side or visitor? Most on-side kicks usuall go to their team side of the field. If this was the case, Mason visitors, you had the back judge and linesman near the play. How many flags did they throw? I seen in another forum, not many.
