I hope your right, Raceland will have to play very good defense to hold LCA to 17. The defense played better against Fairview, I hope they continue to improve on the defensive side of the ball, that is what will win games this time of year. What worries me more then anything, right now, is kick coverage, Raceland has to do a better job of covering kicks.

 

Special teams are another thing that will carry you far in the playoffs. I think the offense can put some points on the board, but defense and special teams will win the games.

 

Good luck to Russell and Greenup Co as well, I would love to see three district champions from Greenup Co.

You can't ask for more than that. That should get a big crowd out for the game, I hope plenty of the Orange Nation make the trip.

Does anyone know why there were 9 players missing from Raceland the first time these two teams met? I saw someone say that in the first few posts, and I was just curious.

1-had mcl, 1-had a banged up shoulder, 1 had an ankle problem, 1- had mono, 1 had a broken foot, 1 had a concussion. And the rest I don't recall.

Raceland was hit hard by the injury bug for about four weeks, and the LCA game was one of those weeks. The team that will be playing Friday does not even closely resemble the team that they played the first time. I know some people think we are making excuses, but it is the truth, when you are missing your starting two backs and the third back in a two back set, and all three LB's in a 5-3 defense and a O and D lineman, a DB, and two starting WR in a passing offense, you are in trouble.

I live in Lexington now and was going to attend the Lex. Catholic vs. Boyle Co., but may change plans and attend the Raceland vs. LCA game!! Good Luck!!

Like you said, it is better to have those injuries early, as opposed to late. Plus, it was kind of a good thing, several young players received some quality playing time against good opposition, it improved our JV team and we now have more back ups with real game experience. But, I would still rather have all the starters on the field.

Thats O.K. LCA heard about your ("9"?) starters out last time and aggreed to play left handed in the last game. I guess they had some pretty good leftys. Denton and Carver matter. Nobody else.

 

Yes Denton and Carver are a huge part of the rams offense and defense but the rams were also missing Tolliver and two offensive linemen. Denton and Carver are great backs but they arnt nothing with out a great offensive line!
