Great win tonight. Rams have a big task ahead of them now in Lexington, but at least they will be healthy going into it this time around. Any injuries tonight?

Denton was a man on a mission tonight. Brett had some big runs and ran hard all night. Carver ran well as well, but it looked like Fairview was a little more focused on stopping Carver and was unable to stop both Carver and Denton. Denton and Carver played extremely well on the defensive side of the ball. Denton had at least 10 tackles and 2 or 3 for a loss, he had a forced fumble and laid some vicious hits. Carver had several tackles and broke up several passes.

 

Robbie Logan had a very good defensive game with around 6 tackles and several for losses. Logan, as well as the entire O line, controlled the line of scrimmage well. Raceland's defense played extremely well, to take the shut out.

 

Fairview played a solid game, and has had a great season. They have nothing to be ashamed of, they fought the entire game and never gave up. Good luck to the Fairview seniors, and good luck to the underclassmen, and get ready for next year.

 

Now for Raceland, it is time to start getting prepared for LCA, and bring home another district championship.

Cooksey must have focused too much on Basketball Practice or must have been ready to play some Basketball games. You know that it has to affect Football Practice that he is practicing Basketball as well.

Whatever man I can state my opinion just like you, Raceland is the better team and good luck next week against a tough LCA team hope you all pull it out. I just wish people on here wouldn't downgrade people so much that's all. There is no need to say anything about basketball in a football thread anyhow. Good luck Rams the rest of the way.

Rams played extremely well defensively tonight. They were physical and swarmed the ball. Raceland had a chance to punch one in at the 9 with 2:00 to go, and again Coach Hoof showed great class and sportsmanship taking a knee. The Rams played very disiplined football tonight. 1-0!!!! Now it is time to focus on LCA. Great job this week at practice getting ready for the playoff run by the coaches and players. The Rams responded to big time adversity and that is the makings of a team that can go deep into November/early December. Keep working hard! Now let's go grab our 2nd District Title in row in Lexington next Friday!! Coach Cooksey and Fairview players had a nice season with alot of controversy, and the players perserved and bounced back into the playoff this season. The Fairview players should be proud of their season and know that they will be better in life for enduring under the worse and best of times. Go Rams beat LCA!!!

Rams are a diferent team than week 3. Too much Denton and Carver. They controlled the ground game and flat out laid some licks defensively. It is hard to stop them, because if you put too much focus on one of them then the other one burns you. They run physical and downhill a great combination in the backfield! Seems as if there is one common feeling/statement in just about every post on here tonight. That one thing that everyone seemed to mention was the Raceland Defense. I am glad to see that the "D" got back to hitting some people and making a statement. The Rams have been a down for a couple of weeks. Hopefully that is behind the Raceland team now and they can get focused on the "Real Season". As another has said, Rams...you are 1-0!

Now lets get refocused and get ready and prepare for L.C.A. at their house next week.

The Raceland "Orange Crush" defense reportedly returned to very good play and hitting in shutting out the Eagles.:flame:

Now it is on to Lexington and a rematch with a powerful L.C.A. team next week in the playoff 2nd round/district title game.:thumb:

 

 

I agree...I believe this is the first shutout of the year for the Ram's defense, as well as the first time Fairview has been shut out all season after averaging close to 35 PPG.

 

Still a few mistakes here & there, but overall a very good effort. Now the Rams are back where they wanted to be (A rematch with LCA & all of their players healthy). I like their chances if they can play solid defense & move the ball. :thumb:

Another note, I watched the highlights on WSAZ tonight and I loved the Raceland all Orange uni's :ylsuper:. Those looked great. Orange helmets, Orange jersey's, Orange pants! I believe that these uni's(pants) were new, I haven't seen or heard about them before. The Rams must have been saving that look for a big game (playoffs)!!:ylsuper:

I noticed the wardrobe change, and was wondering why they changed. Not that it matters, but I thought that one team had to wear a light color jersey. I thought it look pretty good though, Raceland in all orange head to toe, and Fairview in all black head to toe.

 

The Orange pants did look good, I like it, but I wish they would go back to the black jerseys with the orange pants.

 

Well that's enough talk about fashion, I think I will go watch Oprah and cry now.
